We need to manage this kid properly. Hes already showing signs of being tired and he doesnt look lightening quick like hes supposed to be.

We need to be very careful with him.

I can't remember the last 17 year old that featured so heavily. He's of slight build, he badly needs a red card to get a rest.

Is he that tired? His best spell v West Ham was 75mins - 90mins.

Michael Owen played regularly are 18 didn't he? He went on to have a glittering career

Perhaps he's not mate. It's just he hasn't had a spark in some of the last few games, apart from a few cameos against west ham. I do think like owen his best years will be the early ones. Just a bit concerned we take enough care of him so he can be at his best for as long as possible. Ultimately you have to trust the coaching staff who see him day in day out. Time will tell.

I don't see him being a giggs or bale and playing well into his 30's. I doubt he will physically get bigger. Probably end up as a Rude Fox for us.

Also its been poor man management, its not like we don't have alternatives. We do. Assiedi may have just done as much as Sterling over the last couple of games. Even 20mins here or there.

His performances have been on decline over some time and to me too he is lacking the energy and the x factor that he demonstrated early on.

That said, it is quite conceivable that it is not just that he was overplayed but things in his personal life as well as the negotiations about the new contract affecting his game atm.

Yeah he's defo dipped a bit, I'm just not sure it's due to tiredness, more that he's an inconsistent teenager.

Hopefully we can have him out of the team for a bit after January anyway though I'm expecting "we tried but it couldn't happen" from a clearly disappointed Rodgers on February 1st and a few press releases from the owners about how great the summer will be.

I'd love if we could drop him from the team and put someone else in. Hopefully we can get someone to play ahead of him. I really don't feel comfortable playing an 18 year old every game at the moment.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

Sterling is the best English player to break through since Rooney and the best we've 'produced' since Owen/Gerrard.
Some idiots on here are slating him. #bestfansintheworld

Put it this way, if we can't agree a new contract with him Man U/Man C/Chelsea/Arsenal/ Spurs will all be fighting to sign him.
Probably top continental sides as well.

                        Yeah, Sterling is ****/over hyped

I think he's good and likely to become a superb player. I really like his attitude on the pitch, he seems completely fearless up against much bigger players. I don't think he's an outstanding player yet, but he certainly could be.
