Personally, I'm happy if we're offering this sliding scale £20k per week rising to £45k per week - that sounds like a serious reward and acknowledgement of his worth to us.
Chasing the money so young is a bad sign IMO.
he's played a dozen games. If his agent is demanding a wage in the 50k category then **** him. Far too risky.

Well it is his name unless he wants to change his name to something like Chicharito or Pepe or Romario or somethingOriginally posted by Rich View PostDoes TOM INCE always need to be named TOM INCE for the rest of his career for fear of getting him confused with his dad PAUL INCE?

Ha ha. You're not being irrational - you have an opinion. But I do think Liverpool fans and the English press really are blowing his talents out of proportion - he isn't YET as good as people say he is. As you have said, time will tell. I'd say the odds are stacked against still and he has a lot more to do to prove he is worth 20k a week let alone 50kOriginally posted by The_weatherman View PostPossibly, only time will tell, and I'm far too grumpy and irritated now to take part in rational discussion

his head looks too big for his body.Originally posted by Tribute View Post...he should get an extra £50 a week for somehow managing to look more like 'Dick Dastardly' than Chris Brown.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Are you sure he's only had 2 assists? Still better than Downing thoughOriginally posted by saj View PostHe has 2 assists in the league and 1 goal. I can't recall a single game where he has even come close to winning man of the match. If you took his age out of the equation, he has been average at best but obviously if you put his age into the equation that is acceptable. Every tiny thing he does well gets magnified to king kong like proportions. He is almost 18 I can recall many wingers/striker who at that age were far better than him. The only reason why he is playing is we have nobody else - he has hardly any competition. And there has to be a reason why a Left Back (Enrique) is now playing in his normal position.
I agree with the rotating out comment.
(Not difficult) Also I'm sure there has been quite a few games on here where he has been voted into peoples top 3 MOM. Reading game for example he had to have been MOM in that and other times I'm pretty sure he's come in as peoples second or third choice.

Raheem Sterling has NOT been made a new contract offer by Liverpool.
Sterling’s advisors are angry after Brendan Rodgers publicly claimed the 17-year-old would be “very foolish” not to sign a deal with Liverpool.
And they insist that no formal contract was put on the table in either of the two meetings that they had with Liverpool managing director Ian Ayre.
The second meeting with Ayre came this week, but no offer was made.
The Sterling camp were amazed when Liverpool manager Rodgers then went public in what could be seen as attempting to bully the teenager into signing.
Rodgers said on Thursday: “If you are 17 and playing regularly, you would be very foolish not to commit yourself very quickly. If I was Raheem Sterling and his agents, I would look to tie it up very quickly.
“Raheem’s (contract) has been ongoing, really.
"The club and his representatives are in good dialogue and communication and *hopefully we will get that resolved very soon, but there is no timescale.”
Sterling’s advisors also insist the England *international is not being greedy and has not asked for anywhere near £50,000-a-week.
Rodgers' statement is in danger of backfiring as it has only highlighted the fact that Liverpool have yet to make a formal offer to Sterling, who turns 18 next week.
That rug really tied the room together.
