And what happens if he turns out to be the next Michael Johnson? What happens when the next young 'superstar' wants parity with Raheem Sterling or maybe they'll demand more if after all they are playing more than him, so therefore deserve it?If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

YeaH, because we churn out superstars by the dozen don't we, i can see that being a problem for us.
As far as what if's go, what if he turns out to be the next Ronaldo, another player we let slip through our fingers over a few quid.
We are not talking 200grand a week risk here with Sterling, and we've already paid for him.
We have managed to get one of the hottest prosepects in british football, we've actually managed to steal a march on the rich super clubs for once, and people want him to play for the shirt rather than a big wage, or let him go.
That would be lovely of course, if players thought like that, but come on people, even players like Gerrard would have been long gone had we not won the odd trinket and paid him a fortune, it's the way of football, players treat it like a job, a career, not a charity, we can have a team of lfc fans no other clubs want of course, see how we do then.Last edited by Vermilion; 03-12-12, 12:04 PM.

Thinking about this one (for a change) we might as well pay it. If he leaves we'll have to spend £10 plus similar wages to replace him anyway. And if it doesn't work out, his sell on fee will probably cover most of the outlay on his salary. Sign him up.Trey Nyoni: countdown to stardom-2 years1year0.5 years

Exactly what I've been saying, he has made himself a used and useful member of the squad, and one whom we'll have to replace at considerable cost.

Yes there is.Originally posted by doogle View PostIs there any law on what we can legally pay a 17 year old? I'm wondering if that's why we are waiting to he is 18
The National Minimum Wage is £3.68 per hour, but this will rise to £4.98 per hour once he hits 18.
Oh I don't know.
