Also have to look at it from his point of view. He's 17 but who knows how long he'll end up playing for, one bad injury could end it all in and instant.

Has to earn as much as he's worth while he can.

At the end of the day he can't sign a contract if he hasn't been offered one so offer it asap and see what happens.

Me, I’m either planning a holiday or I’m on one.

This is not aimed at Raheem but any player who needs to 'contemplate' whether to sign for us or not.

No neck winding required, it's just my feeling about all players

Fine but it's not exactly realistic.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

Thats football, thats their job. If they stand to pocket themselves 50k over the deal, the agent isn't going to have any loyalty.

This is for me where agents can actually ruin their clients careers.

Yes sterling could go to city and get 50k per week but he wont play. Ahead of him hes got silva nasri aguero tevez kolarov milner all whom can play in his position and are ahead of him.

But the positive side is that at least he'll be the biggest fish in their reserve team.

There's no reason why it shouldn't be a prerequisite. We're in this country's top 10 clubs, our players should be here because they want to be

Yes of course, although I doubt any player is long at a club they don't want to be at.

My point was that you can't blame players for taking their pay package into account when deciding who they want to play (i.e. work) for.

He should ask Gerrard or Suarez what they were earning at 18 and then decide what he thinks he's worth. It's nowhere near 50k.

At the end of the day whether he signs for 20 or 50 now, he'll probably still earn more then either of them in wages and I doubt they'll find themselves struggling financially any time soon.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

You cant give a 17 year old 50k a week because by those standards suarez should be 350k per week. Then you open a can of worms for everyone.

It will ruin the club because thats then the barometer for kids contract negotiations and will skew the more experienced pros contracts too.

Fastest way to spend the next ten years doing a leeds.
