or Arsenal to replace WalcottOriginally posted by Nigey View PostHe'll be going to Chelsea.

We'll get compo for him (i think) as he's still young and we 'developed' him.Originally posted by baitman View Postyeh, i reckon sterling will want to go back darn sarf and take the money

if he was on contract he might be worth 10-15m right now, maybe more, looking at the price chucked around for zaha.removing all the weak links makes us stronger

Which is why I'm OK with giving him a decent pay. Hope Ayre doesn't screw this one up.Originally posted by baitman View Posta pittance, mate.

Ah but FSG will be able to slice of another £100k (more if you think of Sterling's wage demands) off the wage bill
We come not to play.

i would say they are probably similar, just that walcott is a few years ahead of sterling with regards to strength and development. he will be wanting 70k a week, though...Originally posted by Tee View PostHow would people feel if he ended up at Arsenal and we got Walcott?
sterling seems more willing to do his defensive duties, and may even become a much better player than walcott, given a few years. we might have to pay him 25k+ to keep him.
sterling will play here, but not certain to at city or chavs, but might get offered 50k which might be too good fro a young lad who might not look to the future, only seeing the now...removing all the weak links makes us stronger

I can't decide that, but what is Downing on? What is Henderson on? Or what was Adam on? I think Sterling is contributing more than they are, I know he is only 18, but at the same time, he is only 18. A long term contract is a must IMO, I'd go as high as 40k a week to keep him. We have already saved a bundle in transfer fee and he'll most likely be worth 20m. soon.Originally posted by Lecter View PostWhat do people think is "decent pay"
Than throw in the need to replace him if he goes, how much are we going to a pay the replacement? Better to tie this up and look after our longterm investment in him.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

Some of the rumours reckon we've offerred £20K per week plus £5K per year wage increase (upto £45K per week if he signs for 5 years)
I dont think thats a bad deal personally BUT he apparently has much better offers elsewhereBob Paisley - "This club has been my life. I'd go out and sweep the street and be proud to do it for Liverpool if they asked me to."
