How many people do you know who would go to court for being grabbed around the waist? I'd say none.

If it was an assault, and that is an if, then it is pretty much the standard defence.

Oh yeah but if he is then accused (for example) of smashing her in the face then there is a massive difference of evidence.

The point I'm making is his defence isn't going to be so far removed from what he is accused of that he ends up incriminating himself with a highly unlikely version of events

Nowhere in the alleged offence did it say he struck her.

Her own witness statement says that.

Their only evidence was his missus and she's apparently decided not to give any.

It was essentially them pushing each other, him telling her to get out of the car and then she called the law.

They are two kids to be fair and seems they acted like two kids!
