If he don't do that then he will sooner or later lose the dressing room because the players can't trust him.

Talking about a thing like this one time may not hurt his position in the dressing room but if he continue to do it then it will be a problem.

I think myself that Sterling will leave before next season.

Or he will grow up & fulfill his promised potential. Time will tell.

We all know BR likes the sound of his own voice, he thinks he is Shanks reincarnated.

He is dying for his pros to be inverted comma'd all over Melwood.

A little platitude here, a photo op there and loads of 'meaningful' soundbites.

The group is complying along with Colin Pascoe..(what does he do?)

Don't get me wrong I do like him but he should STFU and get on with it.

He is beginning to turn my milk...

Has it occurred to you guys that you can actually think about this and analyse every word and detail too much, to the point where it actually seems to become import to an adult grown up?

No one is perfect. Certainly none of us. On the evidence of what is posted on this forum, would I want to work for any of you? No ****ing chance. And would I want any of on my team if I was in charge? No ****ing chance.

And I'm sure you'd think the same about me.

But that won't stop you from being experts on man management, media management, and model employees.

Arn is an expert on man management, media management, football salary structuring and knowing how much pain/torment players suffer when a manager doesn't actually say anything bad about them

Frankly I think it is absurd in the modern day to suggest the manager shouldn't makes comments in public on something like that, especially as it was almost certainly in response to a direct question from the media rather than something he just announced. Sterling does need to buck his ideas up before he blows it all and if anyone thinks the likes of Rafa, Mourinho, Ancelotti etc wouldn't have said something similar in the same circumstances I have to strongly disagree, they so blatantly would.

As a general rule there seems to me to be a massive amount of over-analysis and unnecessary riding of high horses going on any time anyone at our club opens their mouth, as if their jobs don't actually require them to speak to the media on a regular basis.

                  Offended.

                  Reported and ignored.

                      Wenger re. Pennant

Wenger was outraged that Pennant was still out at 6.20am on the day of the match, and questioned his loyalty to the team. "I feel that he let himself down and the team down. He should not have been out at all," said Wenger.

"Even if he was not in the squad for a game, he could still be called up if someone had been sick overnight.

"He made a professional mistake. He deserves to be punished, but he needs help as well.

"I don't think he is a professional drinker but I also don't believe that you can go out on the night before your team plays at home and then say you are a responsible professional player."

Wenger may look to Tony Adams to provide guidance for Pennant. Adams himself almost detroyed his career with alcohol before reinventing himself and his game.

"I feel that Tony Adams or someone else must give him help. It's very easy to say as a club that we will hammer him and hit him down," Wenger explained.

"But I feel we also have a part to play, even if the guy does not have a career here, in helping him to get out of a problem which he obviously has.

"Jermaine is not a bad guy but, when he has a tough situation, he cannot deal with it. If he can sort that out, he can still be a great player."
Basically think of a young player who has gone off the rails (or come close to it) and you'll find quotes from his manager talking about it.

Van Gaal wouldn't have, Van Gaal would've had the league won by now, the sun shines out of Van Gaal's backside, Van Gaal this, Van Gaal that.........

Managers like Fergie and Wenger had excellent CVs to back up them up. Fergie is of course not a manager anymore but he was that at the time.

Rodgers don't. Then you can also add that both Pennant and Morrison left.

How much boss is Rodgers in the dressing room?

You may think that the CV bit isn't important but if you can show that your methods works by winning a lot or that you are succesful then you can get away with more.

Mourinho's CV gave him some extra time at Real. He talked about the players personal problems but he had won a lot so he could do that but in the end it was to much, he had talked to much about it.

Who is more important, the player(s) or the manager? Depends of course who the manager is and who he talks about.

Didn't Houllier speak out about Gerrard? That turned out ok.

Yeah I know, CV blah blah blah.
