As a young player, I'd look at those comments and think to myself "if I don't buck up I could be out the door here. Time to buck my ideas up and impress the boss before I'm playing for the likes of Stoke, if I'm lucky".

Yup, his growth seems to be stalling at the moment. A new first-team left winger in and Sterling out on loan in Jan is ideal in terms of improving squad strength (and development).
