hopefully now this is done, he can get his head together and get back to his football

i cant believe how many people have said he's ****/wrote him off etc

he's 18! he's already played 45 first team games for liverpool

even gerrard hadn't done that till he was about 20 - i've mentioned before, giggs/scholes/beckham where all 20/21 where they 'broke' through

i can only think of Rooney and Owen who featured so much so early and that's because they were staggering for the age Rooney because of his build and Owen cause he was unplayable, but he was finished at 25 as a result of it.

I'm not suggesting Raheem will go on to be as successful as those players - he could completley flop, but he could just as easy go and be even more successful -

but what other 18 year olds are the around in the prem, with that much first team experience already.

If he works hard and is managed properly then he could go on to be a major star.

if that happens - just think how good he could be at 21/22 when he's 'ready' for first team football, he's stronger/quicker/grown up and a hell of lot more experienced with potentially 70/80 odd games under his belt and maybe a few england caps as well.

Same goes for Ibe has well

with a bit of luck in a few years we could be in an unbelievable position with those two either side of a good striker

nearly had a fit at a mate the other day on facebook - he slagged of Sterling "not good enough for LFC" - someone commented that Ibe is the much better player and sterling should go

the original lad replied with "tbh i don't see what either of them bring, i'd prefered to have cashed in on both and kept downing"

i thought he was taking the piss but he wasnt - rather than go nuts i just deleted the cunt
i own everton fans on the internet....that's what i do

At his best, Sterling has an explosive change of pace and skill that can torment defenders
I think he's a good prospect but the media hype machine makes him out like a world-beater at the moment. Not saying he can't -- he has the tools to succeed at the highest level IMO -- just that he hasn't even been as impressive as made out.

For Brendan to come out with this would suggest that the club are worried about Sterling. Perhaps by making it public it might make him grow up a little quicker.

Should be something between the manager and the player only.

I didn't said that he said something wrong. I said that he shouldn't talked to the media about it.

If the manager start to talk to the media about things like this then the players will be pissed off because they can't trust him.

Sterling need to grow up but the manager talking to the media about it won't help a bit.

Name one other manager at a top club that talk to the media about things like this?

You keep things like this behind closed doors all the time.

If the manager don't do that then the players can't trust him.

If the player don't listen to the manager and continue to be a problem off the pitch then sell him but you still don't talk about his problems off the pitch.

You still keep that behind closed doors.

Then you can also add that it will affect the transfer value if the manager talks with the media about a players personal problems.

How can you keep it behind closed doors when the media expose it......don't you think if sterling sees his manager talking about him like this it would make the little ass wipe take a bit of notice and think i he need to get my **** together,he doesn't need to be treated like a baby he's not 7 he's 18

I think the point Arn is trying to make is that it's best not too wash the dirty linen in public.

Regardless of media exposure and wrongdoing by Sterling the Manager and Club should deal with matters of discipline and redress privately.

Very easy, a no comment all the time when asked about a players personal problem.

Would you behave better if your boss slated you in the media or would you be pissed off?

There is a reason to why almost every manager don't talk about the players personal problems.
