Originally posted by CJ View Posti cant beleive some people think he should get paid £50k a week
As great as he's been, he's only had 12 decent PL games. At this stage 20k, is more than enough. If he continues his improvement, we can always re-review his contract in 12 months or so.
One of the keys to fergie's success over the last two decades is keeping his youngsters feet firmly on the ground. In the early 90's we had a more talented crop of youngsters than fergie, yet all of his went further in the game. Why? Because he never let one of his youngsters to get too big for their boots. Paying Sterling anything near £50k will be bad in the long term for us.

I wonder how much Suso was happy to accept? Here longer, 2 years older, lost most of his Spanish compatriots, had to wait longer for first team football etc. I bet it wasn't near £50k or even 30 for that matter.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Liverpool winger Raheem Sterling was interviewed by Merseyside Police in connection with an alleged attack on a woman earlier this month.
The 17-year-old made his international debut for England last week against Sweden and has enjoyed a fine start so far in what is his breakthrough season at Anfield.
But it is reported that the teenager was quizzed by police under caution after he reported to a Merseyside station by prior appointment on November 5 - three days after the alleged attack on a 27-year-old woman took place in the Liverpool 8 area.
Jamaican-born Sterling, who joined Liverpool two years ago from QPR, was not arrested, however, and the police revealed that investigations are ongoing.
‘Merseyside police can confirm that a 17-year-old male from the Woolton area was interviewed under caution following a report of an assault on Friday, November 2,’ a police spokesperson told the Daily Mirror.
‘A 27-year-old woman received slight injuries during the incident in the Liverpool 8 area.
‘The investigation is ongoing and no formal action has been taken.’
The Mirror reported that Liverpool declined to comment on the police interview.
Sterling, who has a five-month old daughter Melody Rose, turns 18 next month and is in line to receive a new bumper deal at Liverpool to secure his long-term future at Anfield.
