So impressed by Raheem's intelligence. Head is always up, looking for a pass and as Gary Neville mentioned he more often than not makes the right decisions. His work rate is phenomenal as well. I love watching him in a tussle with a player bigger than him. When you think he has no chance of winning the ball he somehow comes out of it with the ball or else winning a free-kick. He gives 100% to get the ball back every time. I thought maybe he was just trying hard to impress as he was young and his work rate would fade with games but it hasn't at all.

Pounds Sterling: Liverpool ready to offer £30,000/week to keep Raheem
18 Nov 2012 22:32
Brendan Rodgers is balancing the need to pay the wonderkid enough to keep him, but not spoil him
Liverpool starlet Raheem Sterling is ready to sign a lucrative new deal - but Brendan Rodgers wants to make sure he is not spoiled by a massive wage.
The England new boy and his advisers are close to agreeing a long-term package to stay at the Kop after his meteoric rise for club and country.
However Rodgers is urging that Sterling is paid in a way that does not take the edge off his game or stuff his pockets too much and too fast.
The Liverpool boss wants to keep Sterling for his revolution but is keen to avoid his head being turned by bundles of cash when he is still learning - and only months out of school.
Instead the Anfield club are looking to pay Sterling around £30,000-a-week, with his salary rising as he makes groups of appearances and progresses.
It is a huge hike from his current deal at around £100,000-a-year but not into the top tier of Liverpool's earners - although there is scope for improvement within the length of the contract.
Rodgers is desperate to keep Sterling fresh and hungry and not waste him as he tries to keep the brilliant babe's feet on the floor.

Fwiw Rodgers sounds very confident, that's far more relevant...

He might make more money elsewhere but Brendan Rodgers is confident that the opportunities Raheem Sterling will be given at Liverpool will make him stay. Saturday's 3-0 victory over Wigan was the 11th straight league game the 17-year-old had started, although the fact that his contract runs out in June next year has led to a frenzy of speculation about his future.
The size of his salary is thought to be the greatest sticking point. Last week Sterling tweeted that it was "rubbish" he was holding out for £50,000 a week, more than double what Liverpool are prepared to offer.
However, that tweet was swiftly deleted due to the sensitivity of the issue. Yesterday, he tweeted again, apologising for a collision that led to Wigan's Ben Watson breaking his leg.
When the Liverpool manager was asked if he feared an approach for Sterling from other clubs, especially in London, where he grew up, Rodgers said: "They would be wasting his time.
"Raheem is in a real good place. He has been given an opportunity here this season and he is thriving on it. He will tie himself to a new contract because he wants to be here. He can be a great at this football club.
"The message is very simple. We are trying to drive the club forward over the next couple of years and there will be a little bit of pain along the way. However, there are not many teams in the Premier League who are starting with three teenagers. And why would you want to leave one of the biggest clubs in world football? It's a no-brainer."I could not dig, I dared not rob:
Therefore I lied to please the mob.

It's about time we reminded people of this fact! especially those in europe that seem to think rich owner makes a club a big european giant! it does not! That has to be earned!

I have to say, he is playing an important part of the team already, we got him really cheap and he will only improve, we need to make sure we keep him for the long term, make him feel wanted. Many players equal being wanted to the size of their paycheck.Originally posted by Tee View PostAs long as he commits long term, does it really matter what the club pay him? He is putting in the performances and doing an amazing job considering how long he has been in the team.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.
