Almost had his Messi-moment alright, but you see he was clearly not confident taking the shot when he came inside.

Should be second nature to him at this stage.

Suarez is very short tempered. When he's angry, he's very angry, when he's happy, there isn't a bigger smile out there on the pitch.

he does yes. I'm not saying luis has anything against sterling, but at times having a go during the match can be detrimental. sterling is ace but he needs to be selfish at times and become a goal threat. if a senior player is shouting at him for not passing, a young player is then more likely to feel obliged to pass next time whereas the right route may be to go alone. Lets face it the one player in the world who has no right to berate other players for taking the wrong choice is our Luis.

I hope sterling gets a rest soon. hopefully we can find a two week window for him. really needs protecting a little for the long term.

Luis had every right to have a go at Sterling. He had the easiest choice which was to knock it to Luis and what does Sterling do? Take a shot and a **** one at that and that's why Luis was mad. Had he hit the target at least, it would have been alright on some level.

I think constructive criticism is far more useful than just going mental at another player.

But he does the same arm throwing when playing for Uruguay at his team mates and they do speak the same language as him.
Chill out. I was just having a joke.

Hmm, I'm not sure I agree really mate.

Sterling was perfectly entitled to shoot from where he was, and from what I remember I don't think he had a clear view of Suarez either.

The only issue was Sterling slicing his shot, but he was well within his rights to have a go.

                Oh well.

Agreed. I think Sterling was well within his rights to shoot then, the lay-off wasn't all that easy anyway. It's just a bit disappointing to see him lose his composure like that and fluff the chance.

This might seem harsh but at the time I was thinking a young Fowler or Owen would have tucked that away. I guess it is harsh, I mean he's not a striker, but still I really thought he'd slide it into the corner and was shocked at how bad his finish was.

It's strange because he was on his stronger foot too. And yeah, it would've been a tricky lay-off with the angle and the pace that Sterling, Suarez and Howard were all coming together.

I'm guessing he saw Howard charging out and it put him off.

Agree re Fowler and Owen. You just don't seem to see many of those sort of strikers anymore. Fowler especially always had that knack of putting the ball just beyond the keepers reach or into the inside of the side netting. If that makes sense.

His behavior is pretty much the same regardless if he plays at club's level or for his national team.

I agree but the problem is that his decision making in the final third is still work in progress and sometimes he passes when he shoot take a shot and sometimes he shots when he should pass.

That will come with experience but the signs are there that this kid is the winger we have been waiting for a very long time.

The Anfield Wrap is reporting that Sterling is going to be offered a new contract, but he is also expected to reject it.

Take that for what it is. I'm surprised they put it out there. It's tittle tattle. My opinion of that site has got less and less over the last few weeks.

Would'nt surprise me, he's the hottest property in the english game of his age group, even at 18/19 he can command silly money from the likes of City, or back to london at Chavski.

I'm not going to get all worked up about it, i don't expect loyalty from players any longer, just 100% effort while playing for the club.

I usually like them, but recently they have put stuff out that's been a bit off. The Boardman article about Jenkins for example, and now this.
