He always had that footballing brain. Was always very 'aware' tactically and his defensive work was always impressive since he broke into the team. He's much better and improving now, which helps him when asked to play in different positions.

His progress since the Spurs away game has been nothing short of breathtaking. Really has exceeded expectations and is fast becoming a crucial cog in this new Liverpool machine. Was really impressed with his defensive works as well yesterday."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I am still staggered by the lack of praise coming his way (not from us). Here's a 19 year old English kid playing fantastic football, producing great numbers, playing right wing, left wing, right back, in the hole...! And performing well in them all. He has game intelligence, great strength, ability, the works. And yet no-one seems arsed, while the demonstrably inferior Januzaj is hyped to the max. Imagine if Sterling played for Man United FFS
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Probably better that he is not getting hyped up too much tbh. We know what he brings to the table and that is good enough.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI am still staggered by the lack of praise coming his way (not from us). Loved the way he just got back and shrugged Januzaj off the ball yesterday. Raheem is a far better footballer."Its not about the long ball or the short ball, its about the right ball." Bob Paisley

I love his work ethic too. Great to have a "winger" who does work is bollocks off because many of them don't. Ibe strikes me as the same when I've seen him (which isn't loads!).Originally posted by Tee View PostProbably better that he is not getting hyped up too much tbh. Enforced absence primarily (
) due to work relocation - all good now so should be sticking my head in here a bit more often!

not just Januzaj, The amount of praise Oxlade gets to, He puts in a half decent performance and it has the media salivating.
I can understand the writing off after a great start as many liverpool fans did the same. But he is sensational now, Working with Suarez and Sturridge must be a dream for him, And must be helping his game no end_____________________________________
Weak willed, Wank or do they have a masterplan?
Think we have the answer..Slot!!

One of the best things these season is that he and Flanno both took advantage of their opportunties and prove that they can play well at this level.Originally posted by RedReet View PostHe's certainly benefited from us missing out on our big targets and we're both reaping the rewards now.
We now have 2 players that we can depend on and slot them in without any difficulties if we do decide to improve in their positions in the summer.Member #1 of the Luis Suarez fan club

It seems like people accept he is an established player already. A lot of people were made to look foolish by the hype surrounding Januzaj and are now holding off hyping young players for a while as a consequence.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI am still staggered by the lack of praise coming his way (not from us). In particular I feeel the reason that Sterling's rise has been downplayed is actually two fold - the media only ever really keep three stories going on any one club and we Suarez, Sturridge and a possible title challenge and second he hasn't had a breakout moment which gets constantly replayed (if he does something special for England we will certainly hear a lot about him)."The man who never alters his opinion is like standing water, and breeds reptiles of the mind."
