It wasn't. He had a good record, but his conversion rate was similar to now, he just had a lot more chances. It's not an issue, it will come with experience and he needs to learn how to blank out Suarez, but he was never a natural goal scorer.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

Not that I give a **** about England but on this form he should without question be a shoo-in for the starting XI at the World Cup, never mind the squad. Almost unplayable lately. I can hardly believe how quickly he's developing.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

He should, but Hodgson is in charge of the national team and he'd probably prefer someone like Milner.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

on current form Flano, Gerrard, Henderson, Sturridge and Sterling could all start

Not a chance Flanno will go.

Fwiw my England XI would be.

                        --------------Hart
                        Johnson - Terry - Cahill - Baines
                        --------Gerrard - Wilshere
                        ------------Barkley
                        ----Sterling-Sturridge-Rooney

Sterling will get a bit of competition though I reckon, Adam Johnson, Chamberlain, Lennon are all in with a shout too.
