His hand sign celebration is made popular by the "Gaza" recording group in Jamaica but the the hand sign is known and used by many Jamaicans supposedly many year before.

Sterling, who is also Jamaican, picked it up during his last visit to Jamaica few years back.

What exactly is it you think these boys are getting up to out there?

If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

              How good is he getting?

Yesterday we wasn't at his explosive best in an attacking sense however the number of times he took the ball in tight areas and won through was outstanding. There was one particular point when he was hounded by flat-track bully Fellaini, with no safety net about 30 yards from our goal, yet he remained strong and calm, battled with the bouffant one and came away with the ball.

He'd never have been able to do with 12 months ago. His development is breath taking.

For someone that young to play in a role that complicated and integral to the team, and play it so well, with such maturity is just astounding. He's going to be an absolute world beater.

I hope he starts for England!

I was convinced he'd make it since his first few games for the first team, but even when he was at his best then, even when he was scoring 5 goals in the FA Youth up and was being hyped as the next best thing, I never for a second imagined he'd be this good. His close control and shielding of the ball are excellent.

Rodgers should be given massive credit for the way he is developing Sterling. Chances are he would've gone down the route of a one dimensional winger if it weren't for the training he is getting with Brendan.

He really is a great little player and will only get better. Love the way he tracks back and nicks the ball off attackers from behind.

Nobody thought he'd be this good, this early.

What's so impressive is his footballing brain and tactical understanding for someone so young.

He's certainly benefited from us missing out on our big targets and we're both reaping the rewards now.

Also credit to Rodgers. How many other managers in the league would have the courage and imagination to play a teenager - who in most people's minds fits the profile of a classic, nippy winger - in that role? None. Rodgers is magnificent.
