Deffo , thinks he is the business as they say , but stiil missing the finishing that makes you the very best,

I think this is a key moment in his career , go down the right path and could be a world star with us under Brendan's leadership , or just become another high paid prick playing for City or Chelsea, for couple of years while his game time dry's up

The Subs Bench is a Lonely Place,I think he's made his mind up to leave and will cite wanting to play in the Champions League as the only reason, but for all these players who say they want to play at the highest level there's only 11 players and 5 Subs for each Champions league place and if all these top teams are buying all the talent then these players ain't all gonna get Champions League Football now are they!Think Sterling needs a talking to from Dalglish and Souness can take care of his Agent!

I reckon he'll go to the MLS

If you look at City's attacking midfielders/forwards, then there are not that many better than him. Aguero is clearly one of them - though injured a lot - and of course Silva. But Nasri, Navas, Milner, Bony, Djeko, Jovetic - I'd start Sterling over all of them. Toure is great when he can be arsed, but I wouldn't surprised to see him go in the summer, if they can offload him. If I was Sterling's agent, for me the issue would be not so much about game time, but about the quality of coaching - and type - that he'd receive. He'd get that with Brendan, but City prob won't even have the same manager next year.

But his agent seems like a right **** probably just looking to cash in for his new agency and giving him terrible advice.

But a couple of years ago a lot of people were raving about Jovetic as a future star , look at him now , not even in the champions league squad , big money no game time ,

perhaps it is all about the money and no matter what we see and say , players will just keep ****ing off for the big bucks , and not worry about making themselves into better footballers ,

Don't underestimate the use of media these days though, amazing what people will say and do to help their own ends.

For me I'd be quite pleased to see us get rid in the Summer now we don't need these distractions in the club.
I think I'd happily cash in now too. I think he's got an overinflated opinion of himself if he thinks he can take his career half seriously like this while demanding top end wages.

Rodgers and LFC have done very well for him so far and offered more than fair wages. If he thinks he's better off somewhere else then let him go and find out and let Liverpool get on with putting more time into developing Ibe and Sinclair.

Yep at 18 or 19 he looked like he was going to have the world at his feet. Seemed to have so much ability and was looking good against senior players in the Champions league at that age. He even gave our back line a few nightmares in the CL at that age.

Lamela at Spurs is another one. At 19 or 20 he was getting rave reviews for his play at Roma, and it earned him a big money move to London. Saw him getting described as a no brainer purchase when Spurs got him and plenty of our own were moaning on various sites that we cocked up by not getting him.

Shakira at Basel. Looked ace in the Champions league for them, and did well at International level. Then got the big move to a massive club and became just one of the squad and his development seems to have stalled. Still looks a good player but certainly not looking like a potential great one anymore.

There would be a long list of British talent as well that were being talked up at 18, 19, or 20, and who did look really good at that age but then a few years later they were found to have not kicked on and developed as well as they had in their earlier years.

Sterling looks to have a very high ceiling right now, and my own hunch is that under the right manager he might become something special. But he seems to have a bit of an "I have done it all and know it all" attitude, something that his interview comments about "all that he has achieved in the game" hint at.

If he confrims that he wants out and we can get silly money for a kid who has really proven nothing in the game yet, then I would sell him. I would also be making it clear to him and his agent that after his "it is not about money" comments that if he wants his dream move then he had better be handing in a formal transfer request otherwise he can **** off and train with the under age players for the next two years,

Some do go on to live up to their early hype, but far more fall by the wayside despite looking sure things at 19 or 20.

                            A slightly more positive interview

Liverpool star Raheem Sterling has lifted the lid on life at Anfield – and says his ambition is to have his own song from the Kop.

In a wide-ranging interview with the Sunday Times magazine, the youngster also discusses his troubled upbringing, which included the murder of his father in Jamaica when he was nine, and issues with anger management which meant he attended a special school in London as a teenager.

Sterling, of course, has been in the headlines recently due to his refusal to commit to a new long-term contract with Liverpool.

The 20-year-old has rejected offers worth around £100,000 a week, and gave an interview to the BBC, without his club’s knowledge, in which he was forced to deny claims he was motivated by money. Last week, he was heckled - gently - by supporters as he unveiled Liverpool's new home strip at Anfield.

Speaking to The Times, though, the England star spoke affectionately about his move to Merseyside as a starstruck 15-year-old, his first-team debut at Anfield, and his wish to hear the Kop singing his name.

Sterling said: “I was 15 when I signed to Liverpool’s youth team, and I have to admit I was starstruck. The first time I saw Stevie [Gerrard] I thought he was a fake! I couldn’t believe he was real and not a waxwork.

“Football has been the focus of my life since I got scouted for QPR at the age of 10. Until then, I’d just played kids’ football.“By the time I was 14, I had trials lined up at Arsenal, Chelsea and Fulham, but my Liverpool trial at Anfield came first, and when I saw the stadium and the training ground, I thought: “Right, I’m not leaving here until I’ve signed.

“For the first couple of years I lived with Peter and Sandra, who I called my “house parents”. They were the nicest people you could ever meet and treated me as a son. They will always have a warm place in my heart.

“My debut for Liverpool’s first team came when I was 17, against Wigan. I was first out on the pitch. I couldn’t wait to get on the ball. I did four step- overs and a half-cross half-shot, and every time I got on the ball I ran at the defenders. It was a good day for me.

“I don’t really get nervous. I’m always impatient to get on the pitch. Once I’m dribbling and in motion I’m so focused the adrenalin blocks out all the noise. Of course, when the crowd’s with you, there’s nothing better.

“My ambition is to have my own song from the Kop. Last season I loved the song for Luis Suarez — Gerrard and [Philippe] Coutinho have good ones too.”

"I never knew my dad. He was murdered when I was nine"
Kingston-born, Sterling was raised, from the age of five, by his mother in North London. And the youngster credits her as the biggest influence on his life and career.

He said: “My family came to England from Jamaica when I was five. I never knew my dad. He was murdered out there when I was nine, so Mum has been everything to us. She’s a nurse at a Jewish community centre and she’s a very determined lady.

“As a young kid I had anger issues, so was sent to Vernon House, a special school in Neasden. I liked it there because the classes were small and I did well, so I soon transferred back to mainstream school.

“The best part of earning so much is spending it on my family. I bought Mum a beautiful house in Jamaica last year, and it was lovely to see her so excited.

“I don’t take anything for granted, so every morning and night, I get down on my knees to thank God for my blessings and my family.”

"I used to play as myself on FIFA and would never pass the ball"
Sterling also discussed his off-field life on Merseyside.

He said: “I live near Southport, in a house I bought when I was 18, with my girlfriend and various family members who come and go.

“I’m the second oldest of four, and get on really well with my siblings. Mum lived with me until about a year ago, but she’s moved back to London now. She thinks I’m old enough to look after myself, but the food was much better when she was around.

“After training I have lunch in the canteen with the team. My favourite is mac and cheese with caesar salad. I’m not in the fat group, so I can eat what I want , but I always choose vegetables and fruit. It’s a laugh being with the boys, and we usually hang out to play pool or table tennis.

“Then I’ll try and see my two-year-old daughter, Melody Rose. I saw her four times last week. She lives close by with her mother and she’s at the hide-and-seek stage. She came to a match last season, but cried — the crowds were too much. She likes coming to training, though. Everyone says what a sweet baby she is.

“In the evenings I prefer to stay home. If I go out I’m always asked for selfies, so I’ve spent money making my house a fun place. I’ve got an indoor pool, a half-basketball court, a games room and my own barber’s area.

“My girlfriend usually cooks dinner and it will be something like barbecue ribs or chicken wings. Friends come round and we download movies or play Fifa. I used to play as myself at Liverpool, and would never pass the ball! I’ve grown out of that.”
Wonder who's in the fat group.

Smacks of the start of a PR charm offensive. Should have led with that interview Raheem, instead of your other interview which may have given away a bit much of what the real you is about.
