I think Raheem wants to be nearer his family and we can't begrudge him that at the end of the day. He's only a kid and is probably homesick.

Would need to be at or very close to the 30m end of the scale for that offer to work for me.

That way in exchange for losing Sterling we would be getting a pretty good player in Walcott along with the funds to potentially buy a quality new first teamer.

Although Sterling has potential to be better, Walcott is arguably a better player than Sterling, but his injury record means he has played just 31 games in the last two seasons. I'm starting to think it would be better to just keep hold of Sterling and wait for a 40-50m offer.

Yeah, no to Walcott. The turd made his decision.

If a straight cash offer in that range came in it would be mad to say no imho.

That would create the potential for Sterling leaving to equal the coming in of a quality midfielder and a quality defender. We could then use our own transfer kitty for the summer to go big on bring in a quality attacker along with bringing in a back up keeper.

What was the last transfer that went through as fee + player?

Rarely happens. And I don't like it, another club giving us their leftovers? We are meant to be competing with them for **** sake.

Galas + ££s for Cashley springs to mind.

Most recent one involving us that springs to mind is when we bought PFK from Fulham for £3m plus a couple of ressies.

Next one before that was when we bought Torres as them buying Garcia was part of the negotiations.

Before that again the next one that I can think of was when we sold Owen to Madrid and got £8m plus Nunez.

The highest profile player plus cash deal in world football that I remeber off the top of my head was the one where Barca bought Ibrahimović and gave Inter Eto'o and something like 40m

We got Nunez in part exchance for Owen

I think we also got rid of Josemi in exchange for Kromkamp, so we haven't done too well out of them.

I biggest one I can think of is Ibrahimovic and Eto'o Barcelona and Inter, but none of those are that recent.

Walcott will cost more in wages than what we offered Stirling, at least Stirling stays fit.

I'd rather go for Oxhead Chamberpot.

Selling players we'd ideally not sell to Arsenal sets a dangerous precedent.

                          Especially for the ones mentioned.
If they are that keen on Sterling take Ramsey off them
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

Actually that is a great shout, especially if there were any doubts about Henderson signing a new deal.
