I'd turn it back on him and say surely Madrid, Bayern etc.. gives you a better chance of the career you want.
Give us 1 year and you can have that career.

With Chelsea being dominant, Arsenal financially strong and Utd coming back City could well be the vulnerable team in the top 4.

They've certainly got the biggest rebuilding to do with Yaya and Kompany being nowhere near the players of 2-3 years ago.
A bit like we did with Suarez you mean?

I think if we really wanted to keep him we would do that, but it seems we've long since decided to cash in.

If it was about his career he'd have put in a formal transfer request. Can anyone here imagine Sterling being brave enough to leave for foreign lands at 20 (or ever maybe?). I can't.

Hope this Charlie Austin thing isn't related to the Sterling deal. Seems convenient.

I thought the QPR clause was 10%

@ViktorFagerLFC: #LFC have rejected Man City’s second bid for Sterling & warned they will not accept any offers below their £50million valuation. (Telegraph)

@ViktorFagerLFC: A third MCFC bid of £40m plus an additional £5m for Sterling could be enough to persuade #LFC into reluctantly doing business. (Telegraph)

Sad day and a sad reflection of modern football that a young player sees Man City as a step up for him, ffs.

Football died a good few years ago man. This is just a reaffirmation that it still is dead, and probably buried a few feet further down.
                      Are we winning?

Man City's homegrown players list for last year.

Dedryck Boyata, Gael Clichy, John Guidetti, Joe Hart, Frank Lampard, James Milner, Scott Sinclair, Richard Wright.

In that Boyata, Lampard, Milner, Sinclair have already left. Wright and Guidetti hardly plays for them. They are desperate for homegrown players especially for their CL squad. Given their desperation, I would be disappointed if we accept 50 million. Try to get 60-70.

Really? I would have thought it was a sign of exactly the opposite. New clubs coming through to the top is surely a sign of life?

I would say clubs like Bournemouth, Southampton and the likes of say Stoke, who have all done it through hard work on tight budgets.

City and Chelsea can both **** off.

But that's only because you're jealous.

A little yeah, but it's nice to see a club do it the right way. It's something to admire. Rather than a multi-billionaire just buying success.
