Thanjk you.

He said he wants to leave and doesn't want to sign a new contract. That's pretty hard to play down. If we keep him it won't be for long and we'll be less likely to get a suitable replacement next summer when we'd receive a smaller transfer fee.
If Anderson cost united 25 from Porto then Sterling is worth 50 easy.
City need English players for their quota which is 5 short after Milner, Richards, Sinclair , Lampard and Boyata leaving.
We have them over a barrel for this one
But we don't really. If Sterling was desperate to join City, had handed in a transfer request, and City were equally desperate to sign Sterling, then we would be in a stronger position, but there has been nothing from Sterling to suggest that a move to Man City is what he wants (in fact most of the catter seems to suggest that he wants a move back home to London)
If City cannot get Sterling then can go and bring in a number of other British/homegrown players so that they have the numbers they need.
Would be easy for them to just go and buy five decent British/Homegrown players and register them as part of their 25 man squad.
I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

Almost as if City are trying to do a Real Madrid to us here. Rip us off. Maybe they have an idea Brendan needs to sell to buy, and doesn't want to keep someone who want's to leave.
Sterling started last season strongly and was playing well in a poor team up until around December or early January.
Then from January onwards he looked disinterested on the pitch and his goals/assists started to dry up.
My own thoughts are that he wants out and rather than put in the effort to show other clubs what he can do, he instead downed tools and just went through the motions until the season ended.
Would have thought that putting in big performances would have made it easier for him to get his big move, but maybe he really does think he is close to being the finished article and so much in demand that he does not need to prove it. Would be a silly attitude to have if it is even slightly close to being the truth.
As usual it isnt so black & white but rather theres several areas of grey
With regards to Sterling I think there is potential in there but hes nowhere near the finished article
Personally I think £30-40 million is an enormous sum to pay for potential and I am not convinced he will turn into the player many believe primarily because I think he lacks intelligence - on and off the pitch
