It's pretty rare to keep a player who has gone as far as he has to engineer a move.

Sterling doesn't strike me as the kind of player to knuckle down and do a suarez.

Having said that, he does seem impressionable. If he sacked off his agent I could imagine him being reintegrated into the group.

im not really arsed about the accounting side of this saga.
the **** is trying to squeeze us and he needs ****ing off. we might have leverage to stop him going, so this may force him to put in a transfer request and/or city to up their fee, so its worth leaking these facts if only to force the issue and get a conclusion in our favour as soon as possible.
the sooner this turd is flushed the better. the last thing we need is for this little scroat to get off his sick bed and roll into training and piss every other player off.

i suspect that rat faced prick agent has some sort of sneaky clause in his contract with sterling.....would probably cost him more to sack him.

I wonder does he regret things every morning when he wakes up? I mean, he is ****ing up his reputation and also it could get to the stage where no club will deal with him if he isn't careful....

        Silly boy.

Getting back to him knuckling down if he doesnt get his move, before long Hodgson will get involved and basically say that his England place is a non-starter unless he is playing football every week. At that stage, he should be sacking the agent and pleading forgiveness because he could **** up his whole career if he isn't careful.

I still reckon there could be another twist in this one yet - i wouldnt be surprised if Chelsea or Man United came in with a £50m bid - or a player part-ex deal. Hernandez, Januzai, Oscar or Cuaradro could all be tempting.... or even Remy again?!?

I've been a defender of Sterling on the field, I think he's had a lot of pressure on his shoulders being our go to guy. Having said that, he was average last season when comparing him to top talent round the globe and we should be comparing him to those players.

The season before last was his breakthrough season, he was again average for the first half of that before growing into it. However we went on an 11 game win streak or something close to that, which is ridiculous! Carried by Suarez and Sturridge with Coutinho showing moments of quality.

To date, Sterling has had half of a good season for Liverpool, which came at a time when we had the most in form player on the planet.. Another player in Sturridge who was in the form of his career and a team buzzing in confidence playing our best stuff in decades.]

He's shown he has quality but in glimpses and for me he's only shown it when the going is very, very good. I question his mentality, I question the £50m price tag and to be brutally honest I question if he'll ever become a match winner on a regular basis.

Looks like he'll dig his heels in deep and sulk until he gets what he wants. I'd rather not have him around if he's going to be a disruptive influence

Given the amount of horse**** / disinformation coming from Sterling's camp I'm at the point now where I think anything the club wants to say or do, truth or fiction, to get the best result for us is completely fair game.

Completely agree. Just don't think people should latch onto it

It's absolutely shocking and disrespectful that Sterling has said his problem is with Rodgers. I mean really? So he has a problem with a man who is responsible for nurturing him and helping him become an England international.

What an ungrateful little **** he has proved himself to be and the sooner we get rid the better but at the same time he should be sold on our terms and not his or his scumbag agents.

Its starting to mimic the Mascherano transfer, very messy & likely to happen just before window closes, hopefully we will have hid replacement inplace before the inevitable

The thing is even if his head has gone, if he stays here this season, if he wants to play in the Euros in the summer he has to play and play well otherwise he misses out on that.
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Has he said it publicly or has it just leaked? Because it was entirely public when BR commented on contract negotiations which caused fans to abuse Raheem.

It's all escalated from that brilliant piece of pressure tactics which backfires big time.

Raheems made some shocking choices, but can certainly see why his ****ty agent has the leverage to blame BR.

Manchester City are set to make Liverpool a third - and this time genuinely final - bid of £40million for Raheem Sterling.

Their new offer is likely to also include another £5m in add-ons, which City believe will get the deal done.

Liverpool have rejected two approaches from the Mancunian Blues for Sterling already this summer - including one last month that was billed as their last offer - but are keen to end the saga, which is threatening to split the Anfield dressing room.

Some of their squad are understood to be upset by the England forward’s belligerence in trying to force through a transfer.

They privately hope he will be sold and are interested to see which players the club brings in as replacements.

Fellow midfielder Jordan Henderson, who has maintained good relations with Sterling throughout the controversy of the last few months, will be confirmed as Steven Gerrard’s successor as captain on Friday.

While one suspects that'll be enough a part of me would be happy to see him sent on loan to QPR next season!

He's young, full of crappy attitude and has a dodgy agent in his ear. (Like he's the only one!) He's out of order, and has been disrespectful to the club and the manager (who many were calling a c*** two months ago anyway) but for ****s sake, he is not a figure of evil. He's not murdered anyone. Will some people just get a grip, wanting to burn his house down, him to do his acls, some people on here sound like a bunch of bile filled idiots. Let's just give him the transfer he wants, get as much as possible for him,and buy a replacement.
