Sell him for 30/40/50m we won't get anyone near him as a replacement.

Sterling has talent, and he looks to have the sort of potential that if realised could see him become a genuine top class player, but that talent and potential is worthless to us if he wants to leave and if staying means all he offers us is more of the sort of performances that we saw from him from about mid January onwards.

If he wanted to stay and wanted to work his arse off to make himself the best that he can be, then that would be fantastic, but all we can go by is what he shows us on the pitch and what he has shown there in the second half of the season suggests he has no interest in sticking around.

If is was a case that he mouthed off to the press but still was putting in the sort of performances on the pitch that backed up his mouth, then that would be a different story, but he has not managed to follow up his talk with the sort of performances that would lend weight to his comments.

I don't hate people. I just feel better when they aren't around.

You clearly don't know how it works mate. He's pissed us off so he's now suddenly over rated and **** and we're better off cashing in. But he's still worth 659m pounds.

        It's pretty simple fella

He said he wants to leave and doesn't want to sign a new contract. That's pretty hard to play down. If we keep him it won't be for long and we'll be less likely to get a suitable replacement next summer when we'd receive a smaller transfer fee.

Well not really. The club got 75mil for Suarez showing if it doesn't want to sell it won't be bullied into doing so. They also got a 13 mil fee agreed for borini and even 17 for Carroll.

At buying players it's another story but under FSG they have been pretty good at getting market value or above market value deals for players.

But if FSG quibble over a few million when buying a player they're tight arses holding us back.

So why are we advocating them quibbling over a few million quid when timing the sale of a player? What's the difference?

I did an analysis earlier in the thread. £30m doesn't even break even and we would be handing him to a competitor.

This is just the beginning of the bidding war but he will leave this summer if someone offers enough.

                    I think someone will.

I would prefer to use him as a bargaining chip to get a player from Real Madrid or something because I think we are going to struggle to attract real 'A' list quality this summer

All your posts merge into one negative moaning moansville.

It's like Alex has been at them with the merge hammer.
