It certainly sends message that the club and player aren't working together, given the context.

Think he's been honest tbf, there has been so much rumor about all this, now we know.
He's probably progressing as a player faster than the club is as far as being back in the big time consistently, so can understand him wanting to consider his options, yes he's young, but sounds quite level headed compared to many of the same age i see and hear.
Could take us years to get to where we feel we should be, he could be playing for titles and CL trophies during those years.
He's not an LFC fan, he's a bloke from London working in Liverpool.
I'm fed up of hating players for stuff like this, when players do the same to a club to come to us they are lauded and career concious, it's just football.Last edited by Vermilion; 02-04-15, 10:20 AM.

Whereas I would prefer players to shut the **** up and get on with trying to improve their game while they are under the gainful employment of a club not based in London.Originally posted by Vermilion View PostThink he's been honest tbf, there has been so much rumor about all this, now we know.

I can speak out about the company I work for (blogs, FB), how it's not meeting my expectations and how I would love to work for a bigger company. But I don't, out of respect and out of a mutual understanding they are still paying my bills and in all honesty I'll probably struggle at said bigger company knowing my own skillsets compared to the people already up there. One tit for another.

I have no problem with Sterling wanting to leave to win trophies and get more money part and parcel of the game but it's bad timing.... just shut up, you're a LFC player now who's performances have dipped massively in recent months. We need you now, it's about the team and not about you. Once his performances improve on the pitch and help us get to where we need to be, i don't really care what he does in the summer. We really we to be concentrating on the team and not this ****....bad timing.Last edited by danperkins; 02-04-15, 10:53 AM.

Mate ..... The club has a media policy for players, it would be written into their contracts ... Players can not give interviews when they like otherwise every time a player feels slighted they would be in the back page, then there is those ****ing arseholes ... The Agents ... the exist purely to make money for themselves and there weapon of choice is the media .. they do not care one bit about the club or the player ... they are like stock brokers .. they exist for commission
Say what you like ... giving an interview about an ongoing contract issue ...after we just got dicked by United, the club captain had his worst red card of his career, our main striker is injured and 2 days before our most important game of the season ... is unwise in the extreme ... he has caused unnecessary drama here .... I for one half expected drama coming from Sterling at some stage and it sure enough here it is ..... can you remember his mother briefing the press not so long ago ... Look its part of the game I get it ... but we as a club need to be in Control...and thats were the buck stops for me ... handle this incorrectly and we are opening the door for endless issues from other precocious players .... Regardless of what happens with the player once the club handles it in a similar style to the Suarez episode post Kenny I will be happyAnybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015

However the reason there's a drama around it in the first place is because BR talked about it in an interview.Originally posted by False9 View PostSay what you like ... giving an interview about an ongoing contract issue ...
They should both STFU and keep it behind doors. But once the doors open.....

What if you faced daily questions and insults about you and your company, from customers of said company, and the media ?Originally posted by BigChief View PostWhereas I would prefer players to shut the **** up and get on with trying to improve their game while they are under the gainful employment of a club not based in London.

He's made his feelings public, in person, no more rumor about it, we all know the score now, so we need not mention it again, he's done us a favour, we can all forget about the Sterling contract till the summer window.

I tend agree
I think Brendan has handled it pretty well, he has basically said hes at the best possible place, he representatives want to wait to the summer, we the club will talk in the summer ..... what else is he supposed to say ....Anybody who criticizes Klopp ever is a James Blunt. Nov 2015
