Comparing an actual fee for Mangala to an opening bid to test the water for Sterling isn't the right way to go. I also don't think it reflects our reputation in the transfer market. It's a starting bid. It can be dismissed and we'll hold out if necessary and sell if we have to (see Suarez).

£30m is miles away from what we should be looking at.

It's not that far. I really don't think we'll be seeing anything near £50m, maybe a headline £40m figure.

There was some swiss bloke on the radio yesterday who had a formula for transfer valuations for all the better European players worked out scientifically by some institute and he reckoned Raheem should be going for something in the region of £60m.
