Strikes me as a bit odd that there is paper talk linking him to Spurs because of a lack of opportunities then days later he is given his debut.
    Never knowingly optimistic

I think sterling is the type of player we need in our team right now. fast and can take on players, get past them. may need to improve on his shooting though.

"That's how I found myself on the Kop that day I had my blue-and-white scarf safely tucked away inside my coat as I listened to Liverpool songs and swayed with the masses.

Then City scored and I screeched and this big bloke, a Liverpool supporter, made towards me and I thought he was going to throttle me. But he just pulled my scarf from under my coat so it lay on the outside, and said: "You should always be proud of your colours, lad."

He and Suso and Cody and Amoo really need to start getting chances to experience first team football and prove they can compete at premier league level... which is ironic because some of our established player cant!

Nothing to play for in the league no so this is perfect time to give them 20 mins here and there.

Impressive cameo. Perhaps he has been stagnating at reserve team level and this chance in the first team is exactly what he needs to kick on in his career and live up that early potential.

                    So he'll fit in well
The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

Coady and Amoo? They would struggle to get 20 minutes at a league 2 club

I think there's a lot in this. they do say if you're good enough, you're old enough.

some young players get better with age as they grow and get stronger, but I think speed merchants have their best years early on. before the inevitable injuries come along. owen was as good at 17 as he was at 25. players like sterling have no fear, they can run the legs off their more established opponents. after a year or two, they get found out and people work out they have no left foot or they always cut in etc. this lad can go either way. he's exciting. he needs to be in the match day squad for the remainder of the season. but its a lot to ask a 17 year old to rescue your season.

                          - Don't think we expect him to rescure our season but I think many of us have reached a stage of just wanting someone to get us excited watching Liverpool play again and Raheem has certainly generated a lot of interest from fans wanting to see him in a 1st team shirt.

And based on his little cameo yesterday, it certainly left me wanting to see the little guy in the 1st team squad for the rest ofthe season - just give him more than 6 minutes next time please Kenny!!!

He looked absolutely rapid compared to most of our other players.

I'd have him in the squad for every one of our remaining league games this season. If he does well as a sub give him a start before the season ends.

His football was more constructive in his 7 minute cameo than a certain 20 million pound England international donkey's has been all season!
Thanks for the memories Rafa - YNWA!
