Why do people get so wound up over what Torres says? I didn’t see many people telling Comolli (was it even Comolli?) to shut up when he was blaming Torres on bringing the club down, saying how great things are now he’s gone. Two sides to the story and no doubt we don't know the real details of either. It was widely reported that Mascherano had a similar arrangement to Ronaldo and was told he'd be allowed to leave if he gave us one more season 08/09. Mascherano felt Liverpool weren't holding up their side of the bargain and pricing him out of a move away. (Don't ask for any links, couldn't be bothered looking )

I really think a combination of a change of view point from those reading the quotes and the fact he is now asked different questions due to his lack of form is the answer. The last quotes could be read as containing a lot of regret but everyone seems too keen to bash him to look for that.
