For years he knocked back offers from teams who have been much more successful than LFC in recent times and stayed at what was a mediocre team. And he and his friends were Liverpool supporters and they all had LFC tattoos except for Torres - his friends got him that "We'll never walk alone" Captains armband as he couldn't get the tattoo done as he played for Athletico. He got the move and the attraction to Liverpool was the club. His move to Chelsea never made sense, especially given the timing: why January?Originally posted by CJ View Posti have no issue with Torres. he left his boyhood club to come here and he did that to win things. we didnt look like winning things (or important things) so he left. if he left athletico to win things why wouldnt he leave us?
he won a CL mdeal so looks like it wasnt that bad a choice for him either.
the only reason i dont want him back as he is a shadow of his former self. he is not the same player and not worth the wages we would have to pay.
would i want the torres at his peak back - **** yes but thats not what is on offer.
It's all history now.My kebab comes with chilli sauce

He's lost his love for the game, he's lost his hunger, that fire in his belly that he used to have and Suarez has in abundance.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostHe's obviously not the same physically - pace, mobility - but mentally he's gone too. Just not enjoying it is he.
If I thought coming back here might reignite that then I'd be desperate to bring him back, but I really don't think he'll ever get that back.

Another player who lost his hunger for the game. Another who has never got it back.Originally posted by BobTheCharmer View PostHe's another like Owen where he had his best years here. Not to say either would have continued to produce had they stayed as the signs were they had already peaked. What about that Twix?

He was incredible for us, he really was. January 31st 2011, what a ****ty day.
