It was bat**** mental that day, bids flying around everywhere. The craziest day in transfer market history and may never be beaten. Unfortunately we were bat**** mental to do the Carroll deal too

No doubt. Even playing Crouch from the start or bringing him on earlier might have won us that game

I never knew that. What a mercenary cunt

Remember seeing the transfer story on the BBC website on the Friday, the pictures on the Sunday afternoon with him having his last training session with us on his own.

Then he left on the Monday night and I had to come into work the next morning with two massive Chelsea fans talking about it all day. Bad times.

A part of me died when Chelsea unveiled him just after the deadline passed and he said he was so happy and so relieved to finally be here. Wow, still cannot take that. **** Fernando....

A jaded Torres is still better than either Borini or Sturridge.

Yeah, that hurt, no doubt about it. But I remember seeing him turn up at Stamford Bridge for the first time, i think to sign the deal, and he looked miserable, absolutely miserable. I honestly think he was going through some kind of depression around the time he left Liverpool. He wasn't right mentally. Maybe he still isn't.

You know the only way I think I will truly get over him is if we went out and signed Neymar. Wow, the just the thought of him playing in our front 3 with Suarez and Sterling......I only wish we could ever make something like that happen. This club and the shirt deserves players of that calibre.

I used to want him back. But I really dont think he could do it for us anymore. I dont think he is the right player for what we need. Its sad, because I still love him in a way.
                      *Except Michael, who died.

Well Sturridge has scored more goals for Chelsea in less minutes and the form he showed for them last year when played regularly was a lot better than whatTorres will ever achieve in his time there.
If we are all only happy when we are really winning in the end, when your race finishes, what life would that be?

I don't believe for a second that FSG would sanction a move for Torres.

I remember John Henry saying that when they took over the club that certain players didn't want to play for the club, and that they made sure the first thing they did was sell those players. It was clear at the time they were referring to Torres. So yeah it would cast doubt over whether they'd be willing to sign him back.

If Rodgers insisted though would they still put a veto on it?

I feel pretty sorry for him actually. He looks absolutely miserable at Chelsea, and has done virtually since he arrived.

Unlike some people I have to say that I think that his decision to leave was partly understandable. Football is a job, and players get paid (admittedly a huge amount) to turn up and play. Loyalty to a club is a rare commodity these days.

Looked at in isolation, he put up with the turmoil of the H&G era, saw some of the team's best players sold, saw the team fail to kick on from their best finish in years and instead go backwards, and saw Rafa replaced by the Bodge (God only knows how awful it must have felt to play under him) and then by Dalglish, who we all viewed through rose tinted spectacles, but in hindsight wasn't up to the job (and who knows how he related to Torres when he came in). He isn't a Liverpool fan, isn't Liverpudlian or even English, so why should he be expected to show loyalty regardless of circumstance? Remember, Gerrard came within hours of leaving, and he's a Scouser and a fan, so why should we expect unflinching loyalty from anyone these days?

I'd take him back if the deal was right.
