i personally think he is a very good player. He covers loads of ground and under Klopp that will be valuable.
Also, when he plays in a settled team, then i think that Milner will be a good signing. For me, he is a bit like Kuyt - he will put in 7 or 8 out of 10 performances 90% of the time. It is important to have players like that in your team. Compare that to Coutinho - he will put in the odd 10 out of 10 and win games for us but then have spells where nothing seems to come off.
For me, i think it will be interesting to see what Klopp does when we have a lot of our injured players back. What formation he will choose. A lot of people seem to assume that it will be a 4-2-3-1 formation because that is what JK did at Dortmund. However, looking at the players in our squad, then it might make more sense to go with a 4-3-1-2 formation. It will be interesting to see if he ever plays a Emre Can - Henderson - Milner midfield because for me, there is a lot of energy in there.

Unfortunately for Jim. Our best Midfield 3 is Henderson, Can and Lucas. That provides the best balance.
Henderson and Milner together isnt that exciting, however hardworking they are.
Also Id stick Milner out wide, he can work there and it keeps him in the side. I dont care which position he wants to play. Its a team game.*Except Michael, who died.

I think Klopp will not care either, Milner will probably more often than not play out wide IMO, like you say. But we'll probably need to rotate a fair bit as well since we have plenty of games, no mid-season break and the tempo will be raised considerably.Originally posted by Alex View PostUnfortunately for Jim. I think he'll adapt to it, but it's a different challenge. Rodgers didn't adapt too well to it IMO, but that may be because his tactical direction was so fuzzy and he kept playing players out of position. It's probably quite a challenge to rotate a big squad well.Originally posted by Alex View PostOne of the things I've seen mentioned about Klopp is that he isnt brilliant at rotating a squad/team.
But that is mostly based around the fact that he has had to work with smaller budgets at Dortmund and as such hasn't had the depth of players.* The above is posted in my opinion. Feel free to disagree.

The complete player comment I suspect Klopp meant as in an all rounder, but yeah that's one the press could use alright.
I expected alot more from Milner, so far he's ran around a lot and looked slow and cumbersome on the ball. Him, Can and Henderson in the same midfield doesn't work, all too samey.

I certainly am not writing him offOriginally posted by DannyMan2006 View PostThink we should judge Milner at the end of the season. Farcical to write him off this early. I guess when you're on big money you get the most abuse if things aren't working, which is fair enough, but overall there's been far more worse performers than him.

I'll be interested to see how Klopp uses Milner and Henderson.
The thing is, if we go 4-2-3-1, then I see it as Lucas + one more. Even though Lucas is seen as a weak link by some, he has excellent positional sense, and positioning is something that Klopp values. He doesn't have to go pressing like a lunatic, but if he's in the right position, then he blocks key pass avenues.
Is it possible Klopp would drop one of them, and play one or the other on the right of a 3?
