I've bought a book from that Dr Steve Peters guy called the 'Chimp Paradox', only started reading it.

It talks about how to improve your self confidence in all situations and how to focus on things and your mentality, taking a bit of getting used to like.

I think it is a balance tactics thing rather than an individual problem with Henderson. Gerrard so deep and Lucas and Henderson ahead only worked when we were playing with the intensity we showed after minutes and until 10 minutes before half time. As soon as we eased off it looked disjointed.

the 1-2, 2-1 needs to be more fluid and mobile. if lucas drops along side gerrard then when we break neither of the 2 at the back move forward to change it back to a 1-2. this means we are quickly over ran in the middle of the pitch and swamped by stoke.

if gerrard was told he is the main 'sitter' then it would be up to lucas to step out, but maybe he is 'too safe' and doesnt have the flair for it.

Tactics weren't different to what we were doing prior to Gerrard coming back. Obviously, Gerrard needs to learn to keep the ball a bit more consistently, as it puts pressure back on defensively when he tries things and we lose the ball as a result. Think, one goal stem from that and we nearly conceded another one when he miscontrolled the ball.

He does give us great angles with his deep passing though. No one in the side does it with that quality, but with the risks he takes there is avenue for mistakes. He will need to learn and curb his instincts sometimes in that role.

Does anyone think that the issue with our midfield is that Henderson has raised his game to such an extent that he can't be left out? When going for 2 centre mids instead of 3, Rodgers has decided that it's Henderson plus one of Lucas or Gerrard. Is this part of the reason why Rodgers is trying Gerrard as the DM.
