Languishing down on page 4 . Norbs I’m posting this just for you ok. I don’t watch England play very often but I skimmed through the match report this morning after England’s loss & this caught my eye.



And no I’m not gloating or wishing bad things upon our captain Norbs but it appears his poor form for us has continued last night for England according to this. I didn’t write it & didn’t see the match but if you did I’d like to hear from you.

In fairness SB, that same article criticises Rose, Maguire, Keane, Trippier, Mount, Henderson and Rice. Team selection was poor and that’s down to (hopefully future Utd manager) Gareth Southgate.

For me it's a classic England team selection playing an unbalanced midfield, the 4-3-3 with two inexperienced players alongside Henderson was a mistake IMO. Mount wants to push on and join the attack leaving the other two exposed, while Rice needs baby sitting though the game as well. Personally I think that he should have taken a similar approach to us in our 4-3-3 and had a DM (Rice?) and two hardworking midfielders alongside him in Henderson and someone more experienced and defensive minded than Mount who essentially wants to be a 4th attacker. IMO that would have given better balance and have help protect the dodgy defence.

The team selection, formation and tactics were a catastrophe by all accounts. But yeah, focus on one player.

We'd be focusing on JH if he'd had a worldie so why not if he's struggled.

I don't have an agenda (I almost never criticise our players on here), but he was poor albeit the whole team wasn't great.

For me it wasn't about being exposed due to the deficiencies of others it was the simple stuff like over hitting passes or completely misplacing them.

Anyhow let's hope he's back on it v Bulgaria and we get to enjoy the simpler pleasure of Pickford making another howler or two

Well in most contexts yes.

Except in this case in which the poster went to great lengths to say words to the effect of "I don't have an agenda, and I'm certainly not contributing to that agenda. But... Here is my agenda."

So yeah, it's a Henderson thread, true. But singling out the player for not having a great game, whilst quoting an article which said the whole team played badly. Well, what point is there to make unless you have an agenda? It's otherwise moot.

Well there might be a degree of contradiction there I agree if his position has been agenda led throughout the the thread, but I have no interest in going back through the entire thing to find out.

Kenneth's wider point still stands though IMO.

IMO it's an unfair criticism of a player who's led us to success and has been a fantastic servant to the club, most often played out of position, never gives less than 100%, and has been worthy of the role of club captain. He may rarely shine out but his discipline allows others to whilst he carries out a less glamorous role. He is totally without an ego

I've criticized Jordan before but we have a 100% record in the league and has contributed to that on and off the pitch so I'm going to take the glass half full approach now. Yes, he's off lately but IMO we can't take much out of his game for England and he goes through these patches sometimes, he'll be fired up for United and raise his game.

Sorry for throwing the hand grenade then going to bed. When Jordan is good I’ve got no issue & I have & will continue to praise him, but when he’s out of form like he is now I don’t see why he’s undroppable in some peoples eyes. We’ve looked a better side when he’s been subbed off the past few games so I’m not sure why people think I’ve got an axe to grind with him. If it was Robbo or Trent I’d say the same IF we had adequate cover to rest them, which unfortunately we don’t. We do have a little more cover in midfield thankfully.
