I think there are combinations of factors tbh. besides Hendo being great, Gomez in form, Wijnaldum has been fantastic as well, VVD is regaining his form, Alisson is back to his best, and IMO Hendo is a bit more conservative DM than Fab, takes fewer chances and not as creative going forward.

Don't want to undermine Hendo though, seems he is always stepping up and improving and Fabinho could have a fight on his hands.

I think Hendo, when playing DM, is much more fixed in terms of positioning, so provides constant cover, whereas Fab sometimes roams forwards and leaves the backline exposed to a counter?

It's amazing the number of people I read on the web suggesting Fabinho holds, when he does venture forward a lot, and presses high up the pitch.

Henderson and Fabinho are different type of players in the defensive midfield position, so it's hard to compare.

I'm not saying to get rid just that it flies in the face of the Hendo is a **** DM theory.

I think one of the other key factors, as mentioned is Allison getting into synch with the defence has also helped.

But knowing we are not 100% reliant on the fitness of Fabinho and that he and Hendo can do the same job is great.

I think Henderson is a very intelligent footballer, he has definitely learned how to play the position better over the last year.

I wonder if hendersons dm game has improved having been able to see fabinho playing there, and with all the off field analysis he has developed a better understanding of the role.
