How much money does he need?Originally posted by Mark79 View PostThe Monaco contract on offer with the tax breaks is probably a big bump on his Ajax deal.
Dutch media reporting he’s asked Ajax to let him leave for free, despite having 18 months on his contract.Always borrow money from a pessimist. He won’t expect it back. Oscar Wilde

Apart from the way he left, throughout his time here I always though he was a sensible, down to earth, well motivated guy trying to do the right things, but since the end of his time here he seems to just come across as a dick who looks to be chasing the money.
Obviously don't know his circumstances but things didn't go well in Saudi for him, Ajax offered him a way out, made him captain, they are challenging for the Dutch title and still in the Europa League, you feel he owes them some loyalty. It's not as if it's someone like Real Madrid or Barcelona that want him either. Monaco aren't going to win the French league but are still in the CL, hardly seems like burning your bridges for.The only gracious way to accept an insult is to ignore it; if you can't ignore it, top it; if you can't top it, laugh at it; if you can't laugh at it, it's probably deserved.

His strop tactics to force his last LFC contract weren’t great either.Originally posted by Exiled_red View PostApart from the way he left, throughout his time here I always though he was a sensible, down to earth, well motivated guy trying to do the right things, but since the end of his time here he seems to just come across as a dick who looks to be chasing the money.

Bizarre behaviour from him in recent years which goes against how he came across for a majority of his time here (notwithstanding his contract strops like Mark says).
Ajax are a much bigger club than Monaco too.

Where is the new contract bit? His contract with Ajax ran until the summer of 2026 before all of this hoo-ha. All I get from the above is that he tried to force a move and failed.
People quick to defend Hendo, as per
