I also agree that the mods have been a bit smart arse with Harv. He did write a well reasoned response but just because you two (Muddled and Rich) don't agree with it you shot him down in flames which is a bit uncalled for considering you're both mods.

Meh, people get shot down in flames all the times without resorting to insults and getting the hump.

I too can call on my lengthy spell as the Ring O'Bells' number nine, my vast six-a-side experience (sometimes seven, sometimes four and goalie when) and watching football on the telebox but I also combine that with some common sense. I don't believe I have 'licked Ibe's ring' but I can see enough of his raw talent to think he has the potential to come good with the right tutelage and shouldering some of the responsibility himself. Sure, he has bad games but that is to be expected of somebody young. He has been in and out of the team (form, injury and better options) and he's going to have some stinkers. You don't think confidence is an issue? Then why do we have streaky strikers, etc? It's a massive thing in sport and why you can ask what Steve Peters may have brought to our title challenge a few years ago.

I believe it's a trait amongst our support (and other teams no doubt) to dismiss the talent we have, not understand that every player can't hit the ground running and some may struggle to find their feet initially. We then praise a great cameo and call for them to replace whoever is the escaped goat. See Teixeira, Pacheco, Suso, Partridge, Ojo, et al.

I get excited when I see Ojo, but he's played a handful of minutes against Bournemouth and Exeter (as well as a few others). We are bigging him up for the fall that he will no doubt receive next season when he's inconsistent too.

Im all for you challenging it. Just not in such a pompous, arrogant, self righteous way you do. As though I don't understand the game. Which was the whole point of me saying i have actually played the damn game for long enough that i can see a player that is a class above (Ojo) and a player that has a particular talent that has got him so far, but at the top level is just not good enough (Ibe)

I hope I'm wrong about Ibe and he develops some composure. He'll be a great player for us if he does.

But i very much doubt he will.

This that frustrates me the most is he NEVER does anything other than feint then try come inside the defender. It's so predictable and inevitably he gets tackled. Real doesn't take much experience to vary that imo.

Did anyone really think he was good against Zenit? He scored the winner and took it well which he deserves credit for, but for the rest of the match I remember him being wasteful. The fact that this was his best performance of the season by a long way tells you everything.

This season can be a write off for Ibe now. His confidence will be that low from his performances, Klopp bollockings and Ojo being put in ahead as RedReet said that you can't see him turning it around with only a few games left.

I didn't even know which match or week it referred to TBH, I just remembered people praising Klopp for getting the best out of Ibe, so assumed he at least had one decent period this season, even if it was short lived.

I thought him being brought on ahead of Sturridge last night was a big confidence boost for him, but he made a couple of early mistakes and it quickly went downhill from there. I'd start him against Swansea though and see how he does.

As frustrating as it is, you know you're going to get inconsistency from younger players and have to accept it (unless they're incredibly special). The problem with Ibe this year is that there have been no good performances to go with the bad.

He was the new Messi in August and the new N'Gog by September. He had a decent wee spell when Jurgen first took over, even made Uefa team of the week.





Even Harv was saying then that we shouldn't consider loaning him out.

As disappointing as he's been, his inconsistency wouldn't be worrying me that much if it wasn't for the fact that Klopp seemed so unimpressed that he promoted Ojo ahead of him.

Origi on the other had was equally as poor at times, but he'd still shown enough for Klopp to persist with him.

Origi has stopped trying to do too much and listened to whats been asked of him.
