Probably, I have a lot of time for Ibe, he's very young still and he's playing a lot in a very difficult season. Can't remember a season as difficult since Rafa's last season.

He really needs to make smarter decisions though, I thought he was always making things that little bit more difficult.

I think that would come if he was playing with players in a system where he had a particular role, if he could focus on one or two aspects of his game first. I think that was what helped Sterling come through, keeping it simple and having quality players to help him through it.

Wanted him on as Flanno was out on his feet but yeah he may be young but by god does he lack a football brain.... we have a few of them to be fair.

Ibe has got what it takes I believe to develop into the finished article hes just turned 20, 3 years worth of development and hes still just 23 years old ffs. He just need to be more consistent and make better decisions at times ... I would happily keep him but as a understudy for the finished article

I have to agree with Harv here. Ibe's running is not to create space or set up the next move. Its just running for the sake of having a run and when reaching the covering defender to try to come up with a plan.

Unfortunately if he wasn't bright enough to come up with a strategy before the run, there's no way his brain will compute quick enough to come up with something after. Thus we get the constant breakdowns and non-delivery. One thing he does have is a fantastic shot with either foot to go with his pace/strength. But all of these things are easy enough to usher away from danger.

He runs to nowhere though. Its no good running with the ball if you can't then lay it off or cross. His crossing is atrocious.

He'll score some cracking goals though, he can strike a ball.

Agreed. He looked to take responsibility for carrying the attack forward. He's young, improving and plays well often, the performance expectations on him are at times fairly unreasonable.

The kids got loads of talent, but is really lacking a football brain. His end product is terrible!

He played like he didn't trust his team mates. Hogged the ball a lot but he running to the by line and cutting back was effective.

Thought he had a decent game tonight, would have scored if it hadn't been for that pesky goal line camera!

I think he looks mentally fatigued. (We broke Insua by playing him too often at a young age. Once the 'fans' got on his back, he never recovered) I think he'd benefit from a spell out of the match day squad. The only problem is, there's no one to replace him!
