I think he looks mentally fatigued. (We broke Insua by playing him too often at a young age. Once the 'fans' got on his back, he never recovered) I think he'd benefit from a spell out of the match day squad. The only problem is, there's no one to replace him!

It says a lot about the team when we seem to think that a 20 year old lad should be making a difference.

in reality, if the club was managed properly, then Ibe would be getting his game time when we are 2 or 3 goals to the good and there is little pressure.

I think he will come good. Worst thing that could happen is that we sell him and he comes good for someone else.....

Ibe has got what it takes I believe to develop into the finished article hes just turned 20, 3 years worth of development and hes still just 23 years old ffs. He just need to be more consistent and make better decisions at times ... I would happily keep him but as a understudy for the finished article

IIRC Ronaldo had similar 'challenges' when he first started off at Utd. Head down, running down blind alleys and his end product/crossing was poor. Also he was a right greedy ******* with a hundred stepovers before he used to do anything useful.. or he would just lose possession.

Look at the ****er now... bit of a stretch to think Ibe would be on a par like, but it shows you can breed quality with the right environment.

if a player is good enough then age shouldnt matter, we need to play him.
i really dont care how young a player is. if he isnt good enough then why is he getting a start in the team.

why is jordan ibe's age an excuse for his lack of contribution to the team...
hes only a baby, lets give him another year to mature, **** it, maybe two years, yeh why not...
then once he comes good [if ever] he can not agree to extend his contract and **** off to city or chelsea, etc.

and i dont just point the finger at ibe, anyone who isnt making a valid contribution needs dropping, i dont care who they are replaced with, but dont continue to play someone who isnt intelligent enough to realise he is just repeating the same mistakes...

Even if we can't achieve our goals the season isn't over. We need to mould a consistent team and style as a platform for next season, but also every position makes a financial difference and the Europa league is an important competition for us to compete in IMO (obviously, we also have the cups but that's clearly not what you are referring to).

My instinct too is that Ibe needs games. However, I'm not sure that coming in to a demotivated or unstructured team is a good thing for a young player. Hopefully we keep fighting to the end of the season even if our final position is unimpressive (as it almost certainly will be).

In truth we are in a battle for a Europa league place, which if we were to win the League cup could already be secured with much of the season left, while there is money for each place in the league I would argue there is as much if not more to be gained by giving some of the young / inexperienced players some game time to properly evaluate them. That could save us millions if we don't have to splash out on an additional player in the summer.

EDIT: I'm not suggesting playing a team full of kids just giving 2 or 3 players a decent chance, in an otherwise strong side.

Yes, this time last season he'd just been recalled from Derby.
It's not his fault he has to start regularly, combination of injuries and loans means he's starting when ideally he'd be sub.

He's also had his injury niggles so he'll be another who hasn't trained regularly.

He's a baby in footballing terms, he is guaranteed to be inconsistent, probably until he's about 23-24.

Modern society, no-one has any patience, everyone has to be world class within 15 games.
