I have to say, I already think he's proven to be our most effective player at RWB. And if you also take into account that two of our best players were out of position v United (Sterling) & Arsenal (Hendo), you do have to wonder how different each game could've been.

Liverpool manager thrilled by form of Liverpool youngster in training

Jordon Ibe is back for Liverpool for Monday night's visit of Newcastle.

And manager Brendan Rodgers revealed that the 19 year old has looked "absolutely sensational in training."

Ibe has been missing for six weeks after limping off in the Europa League tie with Besiktas in Istanbul in February.

His form prior to that, after a shock call up for the Goodison derby match, was exceptional and Rodgers is delighted to have him back.

"He has excellent natural fitness and he has been outstanding on the training ground for the last week," he added.

Ibe's return would give Rodgers the option to restore the three-man central defensive set up he has favoured this season, after switching to a flat back four for Wednesday's FA Cup win at Blackburn.

Adam Lallana, however, is unlikely to recover in time to feature while Rodgers also revealed that Mario Balotelli was still suffering from illness.

i wouldnt be rushing to go back to a 3 man defense though to be honest.....

I would like to see Brendan look to a 4-3-3.....

Why? We've looked much better with a back 3 and Ibe as RWB:

Why? Because although it has helped us defensively, we create very little playing it. Teams have worked it out. Long term there is no future for it, let's ditch it now.

for me the 3 at the back makes no sense when either Lucas or Gerrard also play - because they are effectively almost an extra centre back because they play so deep. What we have then is 3 centre backs playing a pass 7 yards to this deep midfielder who starts our plays. For me that does **** all except waste a centre back or two.

I think the 3 at the back formation has helped us solve a few issues we had - mainly it helped out the 2 dodgy full backs we had and also it meant Skrtel didnt need to worry about covering for glen johnson any longer and ****ing up his own position.... but i agree that teams have found it out - they are now pressing us high up the pitch and forcing errors - and the positioning of our players is letting our opposition get the ball in dangerous positons near our goal. Our best players are our attacking players - we should play to their strenghts.

Also we effectively lose a man higher up the pitch. So although it says 343 on paper in reality it is a 352 or even 361...... we should lose someone like lallana, play a flat 4 and put someone like Ibe or Markovic on the pitch and press teams higher...

yeah agree , let's get back to the four at the back long term , start building for next year , Ibe and Sterling supporting Sturridge ,

Problem with the three at the back as soon as Skrtel , Sakho are not there we got no cover to come in and play the same way ,

We are in a difficult position.

Prior to United the 343 was getting results. And with 9 wins we could finish this season with top 4 and an FA Cup win. I don't think we should start preparing for next season until this one is over. If we beat Villa we are guaranteed Europa League football regardless. So if after doing that we falter in the league, that's the time to experiment as the league would effectively be over for us.

So right now I want Rodgers To pick the best team to win the game, regardless of formation or personnel.

With Sakho and Skrtel out I could see him go back to a back four and see how it pans out. Maybe we'll see Johnson - Can - Lovren though?

I agree. If it weren't for the FA cup I'd say it might be worth switching to something else with next season in mind, but as things are I'd rather we focused on the here and now.
