He'd definitely go up in my estimation if he were to do that.

        Spot on

We need that bit extra to compensate for the above disadvantage, something special, different, we need to be sharp and smart in all departments, from signings to hiring managers.

I think the fans are more united on this one than most. There was probably more noise about Bodgeson's sacking being too early (not on here mind you) etc than there is with this.

Yeah, Rodgers divisive? Not at all. Most wanted him gone and vociferously so.
            Are we winning?

Exactly, plus all the dog's abuse he was getting on a near daily basis off the majority of this forum was uncalled for regardless of how poor we've been no one merits that.

the current recruitment policy isnt great but it becomes a massive problem if the manager wont give the players a chance. thats what happened with rodgers and the likes of markovic etc... the committee have signed some dross but so has brendan himself.

we will never know how good they are until we see them play at least 25 games in a position which suits them.

So you won't even agree with my post that he is divisive, even though you are the one whose posts make it so.

                  Contrarian.

It's not about me, but the majority wanted him gone. So, he's not divisive.

That's the frustrating point. Its undoubtably not the case but my perception at times was that he was, well, almost petty. Markovic being a case in point. Not his pick so he ****ed him over. Right back, subbing at half time. The lad didn't stand a chance. Ballotelli may have been wank but utterly isolating him up front compounded an already bad situation. He had his favourites and he'd pick them to the detriment of anything. And the Milner situation! Madness. He's a great signing but guaranteeing him a starting role in his worst position, and the one he's played least in his career... what the ****! Why didn't he just get a specialist centre mid?

He's a strong minded bloke who has absolute belief that what he was doing was right. unfortunately he wasn't on so many fronts. Huge shame especially given the immense fun of 13/14.
A lot of people run a race to see who is fastest. I run to see who has the most guts, who can punish himself into exhausting pace, and then at the end, punish himself even more.

The success of his tenure is though. The debate continues to rage about how much of a part he played in 13/14, and if he is in fact a good coach.

Coming from the man that wants to punch Mignolet?

Not that i blame you for that.

I've never really thought, or perhaps never vocalised that but I agree about potential pettiness. I don't want to do a manager at this elite sporting level a disservice but it actually feels like he didn't pick certain players to prove a point.
