Suarez was a massive part of 13/14 but Rodgers has to take some credit

Whilst I think the formation (2 up top) was almost forced on him due to the form of Suarez & Sturridge, other parts of that system were down to his management

That season our pressing was great and that wasnt solely down to Suarez (although again he had a big part in it)

I cant fathom whilst he hasnt managed to get us to press anywhere near as successfully and the high line he tried that season has retreated back another 20 yards

Its almost like hes forgotten or wants to blank it out for some reason

Anyway 13/14 was 2 seasons ago, we have spent £200m since then, and 1-1 was the best we can do against a 4th Division side who sat their top-scorer on the bench

Regardless of what happened 2 seasons ago we are where we are now because of Rodgers' management

Get offended all you want. You know how i know?

He can't repeat it. Why "stumble" on a magic tactic that has us battering teams....only to change it over summer.

The answer is he lost the tactic. Its name was Suarez.
To be fair (to your point ) BRodg himself also admitted we were 'ahead of schedule' with that title challenge.

Wonder where we are in that schedule now?

Why he saw fit to change it god only knows, even with Suarez leaving he should have stuck with 2 up top and a higher line

His obsession with 4-3-3 or 1 up top is infuriating

I hate myself for saying this but the games can't come fast enough for me as after each one we will be one game closer to Rodgers getting the bullet

It reads so much worse when you convert it to old money 4th division rather than League 2.

but isn't that the point though Lec? Surely you wouldn't just drop a method that nearly bought you the ultimate success. Has he had a brain transplant? For me, all the evidence suggests that Suarez' pressing from the front forced the team to collectively do the same. He's had ample opportunity to try different systems, methods, tactics...but keeps reverting back to form.

And lets not forget, we weren't exactly solid in midfield and defence that season. A prime example of how we played was the 5-3 away win to Stoke.

If it was down to Suarez and his pressing. Why didnt it happen the season before when Rodgers first came in?

He also said we would be challenging this year, jan 2015.

He also said Spurs should be challenging after spending 100 million.

                              Still scored 23 goals though.

I said it in my initial post, for me, it was Suarez, Sturridge and Sterling collectively as players (not just pressing).
