I haven't seen him saying Liverpool should this or that.

Is he still a big advocate of playing 3 at the back?

Dude, get with the program yeah? Repeat after me:

Bodgers is a fraudulent vagina and we almost won the league in 2014 in spite of him
I saw a dead fish on the pavement and thought "what did you expect?"

            Says it all.....

Brendan Rodgers has lavished praise on Swansea captain Ashley Williams, admitting he tried to bring the 'incredible' centre back to Liverpool while he was manager.

Wales captain Williams scored the only goal of the game as Swansea beat Watford 1-0 in front of their new head coach Francesco Guidolin, but it was a former manager who was waxing lyrical about the player after the game.

'For me, he is a top, top centre half,' former Swansea boss Rodgers told Sky Sports' Monday Night Football. 'Ashley is one that I've always felt could play at one of the very top clubs in the league, and he's been very loyal to Swansea and stayed there.

'He plays over 50 games a season every season, he can defend, he's strong, he can deal with all kinds of strikers. What makes him stand out is he's immaculate on the ball. For me, he's a massive, massive player for Swansea.

'I wanted to take him to Liverpool. It wasn't [really close]. He was one of those [rare] breeds - he's a leader, everyone is looking for leaders in the field. Tonight, the ball comes into the box, he's got his head on everything, every single game he's up for.

'He's got over 50 caps for Wales now - this is a guy who's up for every match he plays. I think he's an incredible player.'

I think he would have been good at Liverpool. Great injury record, strong in the air, good tackler, good positioning and a leader.

                  Honest assessment of ashley williams:

Fair play respect as he does give 100% every game and yeah we do need a character like him around but in terms of footballing ability, he's just below that level that is acceptable at a club like Liverpool. I think the fact that none of the bigger clubs have tried to bring him in says it all really.

In a sense he encompasses another one of BR's major fault in that he wasn't trying to build a winning side, more a competent premier league side.

Bit caught was talking systems rather than preaching about how we should be defending.
He was talking about organising set pieces and how he did it

He also made a point about how making substitutions had affected our ability to defend corners and how when he was a manager the first thing a substitution would transmit to the rest of the team is the revised set piece instructions

I find the whole situation where Brendan is discussing us rather strange really his only successful season was when Suarez and Sturridge were on a different. Thats not to say he didnt have an input but hes not half dining out on that 12 months

He made it out like the board had denied him the opportunity and maybe they did but I think the problem with Williams was that he was always going to cost an exorbitant fee well in excess of the level he was at

Our defending was abysmal pretty much for the entirety of his tenure, so I am not sure he can claim to be any sort of authority. He spent £100m and then switched to a formation that we didn't have any players to suit.

Anyway, he's old news. His return to the media is like bumping into someone you had an awful break up with. Even though we are not getting the results, on the whole I'd say our football has been better with Klopp, at least there seems to be a plan.

I think if he was good enough Williams would have moved somewhere by now. Even the likes of Everton aren't linked. He's about found his level and will remain a good Swansea player.

It just emphasis how badly he was at spotting a player, so much money spent on complete average players that he wanted.

Yeah, agreed. Nothing he's said over the past couple of days has revised my opinion on him.

He played a part in our amazing run to second spot - he helped to create the environment to get the best out of Suarez and Sturridge, helped nurture Sterling's talents and found an effective position for playing a waning Gerrard.

But... he never once set up the defense correctly - we were always susceptible to conceding goals, and his willingness to switch from a back 4 to a back 5 on a whim was deeply concerning.

His lack of ability to build a cohesive squad, settle on a winning strategy (without the shining talents of Luis and Danny), and talking utter guff to the media, showed him up for the bloke he is.

Carra - "What defensive system do you prefer, zonal or man marking?" after they discussed how Klopp needs to sort out the set pieces

Bodgers " man on man.....long winded bloated snooze fest reasoning ensues"

Carra - "But when you came to Liverpool it was zonal marking"

Bodgers - "Yeah when your conceding goals you have to intervene at some point"
