I've not watched it all yet. Quite interesting though.

'The system is irrelevant' :shakes: eems a particularly telling quote, given what was to come when we didn't have Suarez and Sturridge.

Jeez guys he has gone, he is getting Hodgsonesque levels of bitterness. David Cameron gets better press than him.

He came, he tried, he failed,he was sacked.

I don't really like laying into any of our ex managers, especially one that took us so close to the title, but....how do I say this......I watched last night and Brendan seems so insincere. For someone who loves the sound of his own voice so much he's incredibly inarticulate. I used to think he was a good talker too.
Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

It's interesting though, he is talking about the 13/14 season. He actually has some interesting ideas about setting up a team offensively. You can tell even in these interviews he has zero ideas about defence.

Im certainly not bitter, I'm just glad he's gone.

...It is a bit of a greatest hits package. I'd love to see his tactical insight into when we lost 6-1 to Stoke. Or to Villa in the semi final

To me he sounds like a guy talking about his failures to one of the guys who helped him fail. Very nervous, almost apologetic.

He talked about what he was asked. He seemed quite humble to me. Not playing billy big bollocks at all.

It's like the time you picked up a really hot girl, but had no idea what you said or did and are unable to repeat the trick ever again.

He almost got us the title but even if we'd won, I'd wager we'd still be in this situation.

He didn't "almost get us the title"

Suarez almost got us the title. Rodgers was lucky to have him, a fit Sturridge and Sterling running defences ragged doing their own thing. All he had to do was write up the team sheet.

He's delusional in his self belief. I really do wonder if he truly believes half the **** he comes out with, because he contradicts himself constantly.

So Suarez scored 101 goals that season? I'm not saying he didn't have an effect but it's daft to suggest that Rodgers simply told them to go out and enjoy themselves and then sipped on mojitos all match.

We'd definitely have won if they were the instructions. Far less confusing.

was it the outstanding genius of rodgers.

was it the drive of suarez and the inspiration rubbing off on sturridge, sterling, coutinho, etc.

our goal scoring was amazing... cant fault that part of our game.

our goals conceded were a ****ing joke, mid table at best.

take away the suarez factor and add the sturridge injury issue then we are left toothless up front and still defending like champs chumps.

the goals we were scoring was like a perfect storm once in a hundred year event. that is unlikely to be repeated anytime soon.
we will never win the league if we dont learn to defend, end of.

if it was Rodgers he would have sorted out the problems we had at the back that year - we leaked a load of goals don't forget

he would also have sat back and counter attacked Chelsea at home and been happy with a point

yep. He didn't have a clue. When everything suddenly clicked it was as if he said just keep doing that every game.
