I think the term you are looking for is 'sheep shaggers'.

Apologies to those of whom I know to be supporters

It's a joyous friendly place the SPL.

I'm from an era (as are you!) when Aberdeen were top dogs both on the pitch and with the casuals also off it.

The new firm Aberdeen and Dundee Ud... Dominating in Europe. Seems almost like a dream.

Actually there is a doc coming into the BBC about where it went wrong for Scottish Football.

I was sold a dud there as a little lad growing up in Caithness. I thought Aberdeen and Liverpool were going to be the best forever, now look at us.

Have to admit, I only cursorily follow Aberdeen now, its all about Liverpool and has been since the early to mid 90's really. I might go to a game this season. Might

              The once mighty SPL!

One thing you definitely get in the SPL is passion from the terraces. The football can be crap but if there is any sense of a lack of effort the crowd go mental. I am often surprised by how passive EPL supporters can be.

They were guaranteed to be in that group. Parkhead will be bouncing for those matches, which will shock a few players if they've not played there before.

Do you think he even realizes what he is saying himself?

Watched them tonight - Barca were good but Celtic were shocking at the back (sound familiar)? Poor organisation, no shape, 3 CBs - ad I said Barca are good but you have to be able to dig in and fight. City & BMG also so they could have a few drubbings yet.

Hard for Celtic to compete at this level though - Scott Sinclair being their marquee signing vs the £90m or so spent by Barca

Being critical of Brendan here, there is a marked difference between what he said post match, "no embarrassment" and what the players said (Scott Brown) "second half was embarrassing". To really become a top level manager I think Brendan needs that level of steel that makes him respected, when at times the signal he gives out is 'happy to just be here'. Even if you are heavily outgunned you should never admit it, what signal does it send out? He should say that though it would have been tough to get a result, he didn't expect the team to capitulate.

I again think Brendan shows himself to be more of a coach than a manager, he is comes across as a players friend and not manager, he doesn't seem able to set the boundary between the dressing room and the managers office and performances like last night only serve to highlight this. Simple things like saying one thing in the dressing room and another to the media, setting the right tone with the supporters all seem beyond him.

I stand by the fact that Celtic is a good move for him, but, if he wants to manage at an elite level, then he still has a lot to learn.
