It doesn't benefit anyone as Neil says. I think it was just an horrific mistake by Castles.

Colin Pascoe sounds so dull and uninspiring every time I've heard him.

It does if there are people inside the club unhappy with Rodgers and hell bent on damaging him/his credibility.Originally posted by Nigey View PostIt doesn't benefit anyone as Neil says. I think it was just an horrific mistake by Castles. Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

The player named might be a mistake but the story will have come from somewhere.Originally posted by Nigey View PostIt doesn't benefit anyone as Neil says. I think it was just an horrific mistake by Castles.
Why release it now when the window is long gone and Agger stayed. It serves no purpose other the a **** stiring one.

I don't like making assumptions/reading too much into interviews, but having heard him interviewed he inspires zero confidence. Thick as two short planksOriginally posted by Phoenix07 View Post

You love thinking about all these machinations, don't you?Originally posted by Neil Young View PostWhy do you say that? And who inside the club would benefit from such a tale?
Also, given what you know about established journalists at national papers, what do you think Castles might feel about having been 'stitched up' in this way? And, while they'd probably enjoy Castles' embarrassment, would other journalists get to know what's happened, who was involved, etc?
Genuine questions, not a trap.
I do too, but you seem to have honed the directing of your cynicism rather well

its started imo. Fsg have shown they can be ruthless.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostIt does if there are people inside the club unhappy with Rodgers and hell bent on damaging him/his credibility.
Unless its a ploy to undermine him with a view to appointing a dof which Rodgers didn't want. But if he's not doing the business then what choice has he got.[B]Sir Isaac Newton knew the universal law of karma - any action has its equal and opposite reaction.[B]

Could be. It's a pretty sh*t story though, it doesn't bear a minute's examination. It makes Castles look a fool, whether deliberately or not.Originally posted by Shaggy View PostI was only surmising, but someone inside the club intent on causing trouble/damaging Rodgers?
Maybe Pascoe is manoeuvring for the job full time. Infect Rodgers with norovirus, take over against the bottom of the league so with the best chance of a win, then FSG see they should sack The Rodge and elevate his deputy. It all adds up.
Infighting is bound to emerge after a disappointing run. The worry is the possibility of the players losing faith in Rodgers because then he'd be f*cked I think. I agree though, a bad result today and things will only get worse, especially with the away games coming up and the window being open. Rodgers badly needs something to come off - a win today or Sturridge being brilliant in the cup game or something - just to relieve a bit of pressure..
Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.
May the Lord bless this post.
