He has a point. If we hadn't let in 2 goals in 2 mins and converted some of our clear cut chances then it would have been perfectOriginally posted by Captain Stu View Post"a near perfect away performance".

Brendog REALLY isn't making this easy for himself, he's constantly making rods for his detractors to beat him with and sadly he doesn't have the points or cup progression to fend them off.

Got to agree that Rogers may well have the potential to be a successful manager, but his assistant/coaching line is a concern. While our style of play is there, our basic skills are amiss. We need improvements in goalkeeping coaching, defensive set up and finishing.
As a side note, I wonder if Carra will get a chance?I can picture in my mind a world without war, a world without hate. And I can picture us attacking that world, because they'd never expect it.

The entire time since coming in he has been talking about this time frame, he clearly believes that what is he doing will work and come off given time.
Yeah. He's been talking about 4-6 transfer windows to get the team he wants and squad he wants too. Can't remember but did he get a 2 or 3 year deal?

If Carra gets the job ahead of Rafa there will be absolute outrage I tell ya, amongst some fansOriginally posted by nebbers View PostGot to agree that Rogers may well have the potential to be a successful manager, but his assistant/coaching line is a concern. Exactly!Originally posted by Sarb View PostHe has a point. If we hadn't let in 2 goals in 2 mins and converted some of our clear cut chances then it would have been perfect
And if we'd taken our chances and beaten United earlier in the season, Arsenal and City recently and not been humiliated by Villa, Stoke and West Brom then we'd be in the top four.
HURRAH!!!

Talk like this is why part of me thinks judge him at the end of next season. Might be hard to wait that long. But I'd say then we will be going with his time scale and we will see if he has turned it around!

Well at least we seem to have a plan off the pitch even though we look clueless on it at times.Originally posted by Captain Stu View PostHe said six windows so he's saying that we need to put up with this for three years and that's ****ing hard.
Maybe we should do something else for the next two years then check back?

It'd be easier than this, I absolutely ****ing detest doing anything the day after we lose in such a manner and it's becoming more and more common and Pablo's not even in work today so we can't bitch and moan so I have to moan at the internet instead.Originally posted by Sarb View PostMaybe we should do something else for the next two years then check back?

I'd say the same thing about Carragher coaching as I did (do) about Sami - there can't be many better examples out there who could teach young defenders about the art of positioning. Far better to teach people to read the ball and intercept it than rely on pace to make last ditch tackles. There was a few examples of this last night, Carragher just coming across to intercept passes or through balls and put them out.
And that's just scratching the surface on what he could offer.Last edited by Captain Stu; 15-02-13, 09:55 AM.

I know what you mean. The 2 goal surrender at Arsenal was the final straw for me to be honest. Every poor result was sending me depressed. With a young family it isn't a good thing. I wavered at watched the City game but Reina's howler cemented it. I'm just not taking it very seriously at all now. All football coversations are banned at home and I'll just do something else when the game is onOriginally posted by Captain Stu View PostIt'd be easier than this, I absolutely ****ing detest doing anything the day after we lose in such a manner and it's becoming more and more common and Pablo's not even in work today so we can't bitch and moan so I have to moan at the internet instead.

Exactly right. Sami rarely let people run at him and past him. It was timing. More often than not, he nicked it away. If he didn't he took a booking. Carra was like that to an extent too. But in the last 4 years or so we've become pretty lame. Just allow people to run and run at us, run past us and more often than not score.Originally posted by Captain Stu View PostI'd say the same thing about Carragher coaching as I did (do) about Sami - there can't be many better examples out there who could teach young defenders about the art of positioning.
