I agree with Rodgers that Joe Allen was one of the better performers on sunday. There were a few that had him in top 3, so I'm not the only one.

To use that as a stick to beat him with, is frankly agenda driven.

      More like a bollocking game.
      Are we winning?

What next? On-pitch bollockings at half-time perhaps?
Went really well for Phil Brown that.

I wouldn't say he has them eating out of hand, yet, and that's one of the problems with a young manager, when things don't go right, and a manager blames his players in public, some of those players may ask privately or among themselves....Well what have you done or won ?

Players need to have faith in a manager to win things consistently, imo, early days though.

Suppose you have a physicist and a sociologist standing at the side of a field, observing a set of events unfolding on the field. The physicist does [describes] it using the terminology of mass and velocity and frequency of radiation and the rest. And the sociologist does it by describing it as a rugby match.

May the Lord bless this post.

I think Rodgers was criticising the players work rate and overall effort rather than mistakes.

Hmmm, they should have been fired up for this. FA CUP, one of the few trophies this club could actually win.

Maybe take them to somewhere other than Carlos for dinner next time, i bet the young uns would have played better if a Big Mac was on offer..

Also, if he really wanted to publicly flog any player, surely it would be Brad Jones?

If he's had a go at Skrtel and Coates it's because he knows they have more to give while he might see Jones as a fragile one.

Poor things. Some of them earning close to 70k per week, couldn't get themselves up for a game against League 1 relegation fodder. But it's okay. just have a word in private or else they won't play well in future. Wouldn't want to hurt their feelings!

Deserved every bit of slating they got in my opinion and if they aren't up for it they should be shown the door

I hate losing in the cups like this, because you get reminded of it for ever and ever, whenever the cups come round, we know what footage will be played, and what shocks will be held up as the... 'magic of the cup'.

he does take the blame when players make mistakes while doing what they're asked to do.
and i don't think he resorts to the blame game. quite the oposite. he lays down a marker and makes sure everyone listens - 1st team players, reserves, youth team, fans, future players. this was unaccetable and won't be accepted. saying he's playing a blame game is like calling rafa's (in)famous press conference a rant.

I have no problem with him criticising the players.. most of them deserved it as they were an embarrassment. Publicly though... it's a risky game. Rodgers really likes sound of his own voice, the media seem to like him but he just simply says too much IMO.

As for his comment about Allen & Borini... well their completely untrue and it's clearly him trying to justify 2 big money signings that he has made IMO.

I think too much is being made of what he said. No player should be surprised or disappointed by it.

No doubts he has said this to them in person too.
