Why is it ridiculous? I think most people would take Rafa over Rodgers.

We've suffered a succession of crap managers since Rafa left. We've been poor in the transfer market and we're not getting the best out of what we have. We had a pair of cunts for owners and now we have owners who let's be honest don't really know what they're doing. There is too much instability still within the club. We need owners with a clear vision who either understand football or have ****loads of cash to throw away. We need our manager to be more adaptable and become a better manager quickly. Each year we're regressing we're less likely to attract decent players and get back into the top four. It's a depressing downward spiral towards sub mid-table crapness. We are in danger of becoming an Aston Villa, in fact we're already there.

Who have we got to play in Sterling or Suso's positions. I think we are light because of that fact. The back up options are not good enough at the moment.

Seeing as Suarez is carrying the threat almost single-handedly ofcourse the squad is light. On that basis, even if we have players as good as Sterling or Suso (to use your example) to come in, it still wouldn't make much difference if they played to the same level - we need them (Sterling/Suso) to do better, or their replacements to do better.

Anyway back on topic. I still like Rodgers, but the results need to get better. I also think they will.

I still haven't really warmed to him. He obviously deserves a longer chance and I do think in a lot of ways we have progressed from the beginning of the season but several long standing weaknesses remain.

How he handles with this January transfer window will probably go a long way to determining the length of his reign. I still have the feeling that Martinez saw the difficulties of the task at hand in the summer and backed out - I think a lot on here under estimate the task he had in the summer (and still has).

But ironically, I seem to remember one of the sticks that was constantly used to beat Rafa was the fact that he worried too much about the opposition, instead of what we were doing.
