Valencia was rafas first top job. Then he came to us a proven winner.

This is Rodgers first top job. He's come to us as a nothing and its showing.

Yes by hiring rafa back in the summer.

You're forgetting the side Rafa inherited there and what Rodgers inherited here.

He has Perez on speed dial, who let's face it, is needing a world class manager at Real Madrid next season when Mourinho is booted out.

Not going to happen thanks to our incompetent board, who I'm confident in my opinion made sure he wasn't interviewed.

I'm not on about at what stage Rafa came to us. I'm on about his development as a manager. He arnt the be all and end all of football teams. There are other places to manage. The fact that it is Liverpool and Benitez is totally irrelevant. It was just an example of career progression.

Anyway back on topic. I still like Rodgers, but the results need to get better. I also think they will.

I understand what youre saying in general terms but were talking specifically about Liverpool here.

So the fact that rafa came to us a winner is quite important. As is the fact about Rodgers. He's still learning about winning whereas rafa already knew.

Don't think that's going to happen anytime soon. Do you realise that it's going to divide our fanbase once again? We should stick behind Rodgers and give him time. I love Rafa and would take him back as well but it's too late now. Well, at least for 3 years.
                  Are we winning?

Yes, but the position we were in I don't think that there were many proven winners wanting to come to us.

Maybe, but we need to move on. As a club, and a fan base.

                            I agree

Straight into the graveyard of dead once great football clubs.

We're not relying on him though because, although he's played well, he hasn't had a great influence on our results. The fact that he's getting plenty of games isn't a sign of us relying on him, or necessarily a sign of squad weakness as it's not a situation in which we are forced to play him because the alternative would prove to be a huge detriment to the team and its fortunes.

Now if you said we are relying heavily on Suarez then I'd agree with you, because the alternative to having him in the team would result in us being far poorer.

Who have we got to play in Sterling or Suso's positions. I think we are light because of that fact. The back up options are not good enough at the moment.
