If only Gerrard had settled for a Frank Lampard "Impact Sub" role, I feel the whole season could have been so much better. There comes a time when a player, no matter how brilliant, has to accept that he doesn't have the legs to be a midfield dynamo.

Fingers crossed this season will be better. Assuming Balo doesn't start, that is. Otherwise we're still playing 10v11.
    Is exactly 100% right.
Let Rodgers manage without Gerrard and Carra interfering and see how it goes, if it is a **** sandwich then both Klopp and Ancelotti should be available.
The King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

I also think the "I took him for a round of applause" thing was bull**** too.

Chuffed BR gets another chance next season.

Last year was tough for many reasons but we still put some great form together for 2-3 months.

Let's try to remember that and get behind the team and manager.

If it's gone belly up by Christmas and he goes then nobody can have any complaints.

Time to get behind the manager now. Just hope he can settle on a formation, and bring in at least one top quality attacker to replace the likely gone Sterling. If it's Benteke I'll watch us from behind the couch next season.

Yup everyone needs to get behind the Rodgers now and hope that we sign more good players in the summer. A bit of luck he learned from last seasons mistakes, need a bit of luck with injuries, no pressure of accommodating Stevie & hopefully some of the signings we get in this window will help him decide on what is (a) Our best team & (b) what way he is going to set us up.

Other quality signing along with the Milner signing is a must. I'm trying to be positive...which is rare for me so..... go team!!! [insert image of a thumbs up smiley]

Its going to be hard, he's going to have to win over the fanbase all over again, because the rate he's lost his admirers and how quickly it all turned around is quite astounding. I worry for him next season - he's going to have to get off to an absolute flier to banish the memories of the FA Cup semi final, Palace 3-1, Arsenal 4-0 and Stoke 6-1 - theose performances are going to live long in the memory.

I worry for him (in a way)

I only post on this forum so not sure my getting behind Rodgers (or not) really makes all that much of a difference. I am massively sceptical he can get the job done, and if I am being honest will be surprised to see him last past Christmas, I think he was found out last season, and ended up showing that, bottom line, he didn't have the ability to navigate, coach and direct us to a succesful end of season.

We shall see, hopefully all you guys that want him given a second chance can go on to be proven right. I reserve my right to remain highly dubious.

Did we? Remind me please - all I remember is a piss poor season where we played well maybe twice & managed to stumble on a few wins in a row

Don't share the optimism at all but as you say time to get behind the manager but he's got to get off to a flyer
What do you mean it could've been anyone? Name me one person who's got a grudge against penguins

The 'rate' he lost his admirers is more to do with the 'admirers' than Rodgers. Don't worry, if he starts winning I'm expecting them all to be flooding back saying 'hands up I woz wrong innit' before you could finish saying 'yeah mate, you were'.

Yes, we went 13 league games unbeaten over 3 months and gathered 33 points, 2.53 points per game. I know you've tried to dismiss the run as a fluke or say certain results dont count as Southampton put us under pressure for 5 minutes in each half bla bla bla but the wins did actually happen.

A fairer criticism would be good runs don't mean much if you spend the rest of the season playing ****, I dont know why you keep trying to dismiss that actual good run though as if it never happened.

Unbeaten in the league from 17th December to 22nd March.

People didn't recognise it so much because our **** start meant that we still weren't in a decent league position, but it was a very good extended run.

yeah it'll be tough for him if we have a bad start alright.

                              Exactly right Chris.

We did have a good spell. People would be right to say we rode our luck at times during it, but Rodgers could quite easily say we were unlucky in some games as well.

Fact of the matter is we had a poor season but that doesn't mean it was all bad. My only worry now is to how we will play next season.
                              Forwards.......
