What are the expectations that are unrealistic??

For instance I'm disappointed in Rodgers performance but I by no means believe we should be top of the league and even being in the top 4 would be an overachievement for me

That was based on what ? 4/5 games was it ? A new, young, inexperienced manager working with a threadbare squad and I don't think a bad run of results is anything to get too worked up over, especially since our league form has improved since then.
Last season was this club's worst league campaign in 50 years, now that was bad. I haven't heard you mention that too many times Lec, why is that ??

One that has been stated by BR and FSG is to balance the books, and re-set the ground for future devolopment? We have to expect a slower rate of growth, and working out his current points per game cant be helpful with that. Plus it paints an incomplete picture.

Yes, I agree BR needs to pick things up but the fact is we're 8 games unbeaten in the league and 5 points off 5th, after the start we had that somewhat encouraging. What gives me some level of optimism about the rest of this season is that all the indications are that we're going to spend in January to improve our attacking options, whether we buy the right players or not remains to be seen.

Anyway, what does history matter to what Brendan Rodgers is doing? I never get that. The only reasonable comparison is last season IMO, and even then its not too accurate.

Talking about our start to a season 110 years ago means nothing to no one. Just like comparing our start to 10 years ago.

I think it comes down to whether people think rodgers is the right man to take us forward or not.

I have my doubts but ive made it clear that if fsg are happy with this idealistic philosophy as bob put it, then they have to let rodgers get on with it. This includes backing him in the transfer market in january and letting him show us his vision for lfc.

at the moment, what we've seen is the team trying to do a lot of things and not doing any of them very well. So fsg need to let him do it his way otherwise we will always hear the the same old excuses

- that the club wants to balance their books
- that i dont have my own players here
- that the squad i inherited was very poor etc... and so forth.
