First off can we cut the internet warrior, kid jibes out
BR got it wrong yesteday in terms of the team that played but hopefully we as a side have learnt from it - let's be honest that 11 he put out won't play as a side too often and certainly the centre of defence and midfield.
We way we play football we need two defenders who are comfortable on the ball and can set up the platform for us to play, with not having Agger in there it was a massive problem for us and shows we probably need to invest in a CB on top of that the pairing of Henderson and Allen in midfield didn't work and allowed too much pressure on our defence, I very much doubt we'll see that pairing (as a two) again this season.
We were missing some real key players for us in the likes of Pepe, Johnson & Agger at the back yesterday as well as not playing with our DM in Lucas.
A bad result but I think we'll move on and learn from the mistake in personnel as Rodgers has shown he's not afraid to make.

Allardyce couldn't manage a wank without help, let alone run a decent club.Originally posted by tanner View Post...but I'll bet you that not one person on here would put a decent stake on someone like Fat Sam doing any worse
Oh, except in his eyes his talents are more geared towards Barca or Real...

It's all very well caning Rodgers but the ones who got bullied yesterday were Skrtel, Coates and Sterling.
Skrtel is nowhere near as good as most think, Coates is a young kid who needs to play and Sterling shows why small, skillfull players don't make it in the lower leagues.
Borini/Sturridge didn't play well but they weren't bullied, Borini is coming back from 3 months injured and that was Sturridge's 1st 90 minutes in god knows how long.
Henderson and Allen did fine, not brilliant but they played well enough.
Robinson struggled at times but again he's 19 and has played about 10 games??
We are crying out for an older head or two. Rodgers knows that, wants that but FSG prefer the long term policyThe King was back for a short while. Long live The King.

He is that egotistical that he has changed formations for games and even mid-games and has benched players like Borini and Allen when playing poorly, players that he purchased for decent sums. Not signs of an egotistical manager set in his ways.Originally posted by tanner View PostI'm not wrong.
Think this set in his ways thing comes from him loaning out Carroll. Think the only thing he is set is about wanting his teams to play on the deck with short passes and good movement and high tempo

...ok, so you agree that Allardyce is a pitiful manager with all the charm and personality of a cold, turgid ****.Originally posted by tanner View PostI agree and thats my point
Are you saying Rodgers is also as much use as a wet paper bag?
Harsh if you are... his style of play is showing some signs of working, albeit we need more aggression (bottle) and more drive from the first whistle sometimes.
You not prepared to give him a season and summer window to sort it? After all, this is a rebuilding job, not just a bit of finessing...

G mentioned the players being given 4 days off last week - it was Jack Robinson who tweeted they'd been given Sun-Wed off. Trained Thursday and Friday. Suarez & Lucas definitely went to Istanbul to do some promo work so it wasn't just the young players.
Obviously Rodgers was in court, and clearly we don't know the ins and outs or why this happened - but on the face of it it doesn't look very good, does it?Last edited by Shaggy; 28-01-13, 02:21 PM.Thanks very much for being ‘This Mornings’ Farmer’

Still we have no idea why it happened so let's hope there was a sensible reason for it other than Rodger's effectively ditching his job for a few days while his son was in court. No doubt that's exactly how the papers would report it anyway though!
