i think it's very likely he will be given the time bar incredibly bad form. like not inconsistent form but losing the rest of our matches by three goals kinda form.Originally posted by Robbie-9-Fowler View PostBut will FSG? It's not really been a step forward so far has it? There have been positives but there are still so many problem area's. I think Rodgers was a bigger risk because of our situation, he's probably made the move too early tbh but if given the time it could still work out.dave of mutilation

Considering the lengths they went to in order to get him - persuading him to rule himself in after he ruled himself out, and ditching their favoured "continental model" - they would look pretty daft if the chop was administered after only one season. Barring, as you allude to, a historically catastrophic run, they'll probably just explain away this season as a transitional affair, and point to the 'progress' made in developing a young squad with lots of potential and a bright future, blah, blah, blah.Originally posted by little dave hedgehog View Posti think it's very likely he will be given the time bar incredibly bad form. like not inconsistent form but losing the rest of our matches by three goals kinda form.

I don't think this point can be overstated. I don't think we should sack Rodgers, but even if people do, the process which lead to his appointment(which was one hailed as some grand vision) would still be in place and we'd be back at this point in a years time. The fact of the matter is that FSG thought it was perfectly acceptable for the Swansea manager, who had only one season in the top league under his belt, and the Wigan manager, whose primary accomplishment seemed to be escaping self-inflicted relegation battles, to be the two leading contenders for the manager of 5 time European champions. That's extremely ominous for any future changes they'd make.
The attenuation of the shadow will not change the substance.

Reading that makes me sick. Sounds like the equivalent of Paris Hilton and her inheritance.Originally posted by Tee View Post
And Ansari was spending DIC money, not like Moores drawing his own funds. Massive difference. And as you say Sarb, MAkhtoum was on the horizon. We would have been the biggest club in the land by now if that takeover happened. I knew we ****ed up the moment DIC pulled out (or were forced to pull out to save some face).
I'd prefer we do it from our own efforts. Was muß, das muß.
